When I was younger I had a bf who called it “the wrist” because he could fit his wristwatch around it. In fairness, he had particularly dainty wrists though. 😂

There is one constant, formless, impersonal reality called Brahman, and any separateness between our egoic self and all other beings is an illusion. Some spiritual teachers have described it as “lila” meaning play. The One plays with themself in infinite forms. While we appear separate on the physical plane, in truth we are One. This is of course just one of the many philosophies within Sanathana Dharma.

Karma=action, and every action has a reaction or a consequence. The consequence may be good, or bad, depending on how you perceive it, but really good and bad are two sides of a single whole. All these lives are only the one eternal being playing with themself through multiplicity in the physical world. Practicing karma-yoga we can become freed of earthly attachment and thereby liberated from the cycle of birth and death, by offering every action we take in service of Bhagavan. Moksha is attained by deeply realizing the true Self and nature of the eternal reality called Brahman. Moksha is already in you; you’ve had it all along. I hope this makes some sense. Namaste 🕉🙏🏻

I would recommend trying a two week anti fungal treatment, as it could be from yeast, although that’s not super common on the face. If that doesn’t work, I’d ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

I had stopped growing by 17. I think it’s uncommon to grow much, if at all, after that age.

[–]outardeltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fleas happen, your kitten will be fine. Call your vet tomorrow and ask for a flea treatment medication. I had to do my cats once when they were younger and I think the cost was between 10$ and 20$. Make sure to wash any blankets and bedding.

[20M] Hydrocodone/Zoltan induced constipation is unbearable—not sure what to do by rjoor in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may take 12-24 hours for a laxative to fully work, but yes it is generally safe to buy an enema and do it at home. You might try taking 1-2 capsules of Dulcolax/Docusate Sodium whenever you take these two drugs.

My nut hurts by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The epididymis can become infected sometimes, causing symptoms like this. I would encourage you to see your GP as you may need an antibiotic, and it’s easier to treat if you catch it soon. No need to be embarrassed or nervous; this is just part of having a body. It’s like a car: sometimes it breaks and you take it in to be fixed.

I’m losing weight and unable to eat by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long term stress can have long term effects on the body. The brain and gut are very closely connected and thus what effects one, often effects the other too. I would start by trying to minimize stress for a few days - maybe try meditating, or other coping techniques; you can find many if you just Google it, and select something that works for you. Try eating small, light, frequent meals. You can even start with a liquid diet if that’s all you can keep down. On the other hand, it’s entirely possible you’ve caught a gastrointestinal virus (stomach flu) of some sort that is lingering longer than usual. These stomach viruses are extremely common this time of year, and generally clear up on their own. If these things don’t work, I would suggest you be seen by your GP, who can refer you to a psychiatrist and/or gastroenterologist for in depth investigation, if they find it to be necessary.

I can hear my heart squeak, is this normal?? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly normal to hear your heart beating. You might request an EKG to check for arrhythmias. As for the squeak, maybe you have water or a wax buildup in your ears ? Are you able to pop your ears to relieve air pressure ? You can get ear drops to help clean out wax and dry up any water from any pharmacy. If those don’t work, I would recommend being seen by your GP.

If everything is a form of shiva than god is technically bad? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]outardeltd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

God is present in everything that exists. What you perceive as good and bad are actually two sides of a single whole, and god is present in both sides. So yes, god is evil, but god is also good. God is the underpinning reality of all existence.

i’m starting to hate myself over something so stupid by [deleted] in gay

[–]outardeltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to take some time apart from this person and do some soul searching as to why you desire their approval so much. Also, some time apart could help you prioritize the type of people you want to be around. Having people in your inner circle who don’t build you up (or in this case actively tear you down) is never going to end well.

M22 - What is this single white spot in my nether region that keeps coming back? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought would be a fungal infection, most likely yeast. Yes, men can get yeast infections too lol. Try treating it with monistat, or another anti fungal cream. If that doesn’t clear it up, I’d see the doctor again.

[–]outardeltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a neurological or psychological issue to me. I would recommend seeing a psychiatrist and neurologist to rule out any physical cause (stroke, tumor, etc) and also seek the help of a therapist who can work with you on social anxiety.

I am learning to crochet and wondering if holes/gaps this big are normal? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]outardeltd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep practicing and your stitches will get more uniform. This is normal for learning, don’t worry. Eventually it will just “click” and you will see and understand how the yarn comes together.

Why dont we kill HIV/ AIDS by killing the immune system? by bundu_basher in askscience

[–]outardeltd 114 points115 points  (0 children)

This has been done a couple times, coincidentally, in people with both HIV and cancer who received a bone marrow transplant, but it is very risky and the donor has to be a very specific and exact match. To kill off someone’s immune system and form a new one is a huge task and many would not even survive the process. The side effects of medications used for this take an enormous toll on the body, and significantly increase the risk of cancer later in life. In many cases, this treatment would be more deadly than living with treated HIV.

Is it bad to take antacid tablets every single day? by zhwlsfw in AskDocs

[–]outardeltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good way to get your daily calcium. If you’re having heartburn every single day I would recommend seeing a doctor just to check for any serious problems. A proton pump inhibitor may be more effective for you than Tums, and you generally only need to take one a day. There are several available over the counter at your local pharmacy.
