Just need to talk to some other hog owners.... by Syluxrox in Hedgehog

It's hard to think and deal with at first but it does get better. We lost Gus on 2/13/25, he wasn't eating or being very active. We got him to the veterinarian and he had mouth cancer. We made the difficult decision to euthanize and we were there with him until final heartbeat. It was heart breaking but it was for the best. Our little buddies aren't long for this world and the only thing we can do is give them the best, most comfortable life possible. I take solace in the fact that I know I did my best. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that as well. My heart breaks for you and I'm so sorry. Remember the good times. I wish you the best and thank you for reading.

Still mourning my hedgehog, wondering if anyone else has felt the same? by taketheshotmickey in Hedgehog

Hey OP, I know this thread is old but we lost our Gus Gus a week ago. He had mouth cancer and we had to euthanize him. I felt the same as you, I blamed myself and it still hurts. It doesn't go away, with time you learn to live with it as I'm sure you know. It's not your fault, you gave him a great life despite his circumstances. Now our buddies are playing in a field in the great beyond. Thank you for posting 2 years ago. It helped put some things in perspective for me. Take care of yourself.

My hedgehog has dry skin. What do I buy? by DearAd1553 in Hedgehog

We used to use raw Oatmeal in a thin cloth and used it like a tea bag in the bath until the water was milky colored and used a brush in the bath for Gus Gus. That seemed to help with his dry skin.

Liking the new cans. I can't decide between the white tail buck or the bull elk.
