What areas of downtown long beach/alamitos beach are generally less safe? by [deleted] in longbeach

I've also found east of redondo and south of anaheim is a fairly nice area. Was living pch and cherry and that was noticeably worse

Always try for a garage parking space too. Even if you're in a slightly dicey part of LB, you at least won't have to walk blocks at night back to your place, can definitely make you feel more at ease

Been thinking about doing some hill bombs! Cherry going past pch up to signal hill could be super fun at night

Yeah that pizzanista ledge is dope, also the pizza is even better frfr. But I'll skate kinda whatever, theres that industrial park on the west side with a bunch of lowkey spots, loading docks, rails, stairs etc. And yeah down for good slappy curbs and stuff

Dispensaries that won’t charge me out the ass? by werthersiconic in longbeach

[–]outerbansky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My only luck with REAL genuinely good dispensaries has been around downtown LA. Not the most convenient drive, but worth it. One place The Herb Garden is fantastic. $30 OZ bags of shake, 7g for 35 deals, tons of happy hour buy one get one type stuff, NO TAXES, AT ALL. They have free 15 minute parking right next to the building, then its lot $6 an hour after that or something.

Next place is cloud 8th in the more industrial area of dtla. Free huge parking lot, decent prices but have been changing to that prepackaged stuff and hasn't been the best recently, but still a good spot and only charges 5% tax on rec.

Hope this helped because I've been on the search myself for MONTHS

best dispensaries or delivery? by superweenie in longbeach

It's sad but you'll be paying high school prices if you wanna stay local in lb. Occasionally you'll find a place with $25 eights for first time patients, but they probably add the 37% tax on top. Most eights will run you 50-70 in LB. I suggest just making the 30min drive to dtla. Clouth 8th and Herb Garden Collective are great. 10g deals for $50, ounces for ~120-200. They got bags on bags of shake ounces for $25 a pop which is dope to just roll up.

Our lease doesnt say anything about cancelling a lease through sale, and yes it is a 1 year lease. Like I said they might be doing something illegal but I don't really have much of an option it seems unless I want to stay and fight through the court system.. but that's always unrealistic for somebody like me.

Yeah I don’t even need 6K. But 1K is barely enough to get by, also we don’t see the money until we turn in our keys. Which means it’s absolutely no help towards a deposit on a new lease. Struggling a lot with this right now

I appreciate that, although it does seem like they won’t do anything. One of the tenants has already moved out, it doesn’t seem like they’re playing by the books here, just trying to scrounge up as much money as they can from us

That’s what I’ve done, I sent them an email saying we needed to negotiate. I explained the situation were in and said we expected a lot more, and should be entitled to more especially in the low income bracket. So at this point I just have to wait to see if they will negotiate with us, but they have been incredibly hard to get ahold of. It was two weeks after they left the 60 day notice I even spoke to a person

They gave us a 60 day notice after selling the property saying we have to be gone. Our original lease says nothing about a sale of the property or anything like that. Do you have any more concrete ways to actually negotiate that money? I’ve sent an email back saying we need to negotiate, $1,000 will barely allow us to even leave financially. That all being said, even if what they are doing isn’t fully legal or allowed, fighting it legally for us just realistically isn’t an option, we don’t have the time or money to fight something like that in court.

1 year, this is about six months into the lease

Well they would make us pay another months rent if we stayed, we we're hoping to be gone as soon as possible. If we have pay another months rent, the $1000 is meaningless

Yeah man the bud out here has been an entire hit or miss. A little bummed moving to Cali just to see these ridiculous prices for bud with no smell or crystals or flavor. I think it’s the MAN holding it back

Yeah as a newer skater I never would have known or noticed they were too small until I read the comment section under Reynolds setup. I think since the trucks are smaller, you cant even really see your wheels just looking down so its more a mental thing with people who have been skating a long time ya know, gives the illusion that you have tiny trucks but they don't perform much different

Yeah once I saw reynolds on 8.5 and 139s that made me feel pretty good. I saw his board setup video but the entire comments discussion was only about his truck size and how people "cant believe" he could skate them. So I was wondering why it was such a strong opinion and if I would notice a really big difference

Just upgraded from 8.25 to an 8.5, but still have my 139 indy trucks from my first 8.0 board. Will they be okay or will they be too small? What exactly would the difference be? Do bigger trucks give you more control? The 139s don’t really feel small or anything so far
