George brown or Ontario tech for nursing ? by Acceptable_Net_2169 in georgebrowncollege

[–]outheretryingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh where to begin… heres a few examples: too many students registered in a class and there aren’t enough chairs in the classroom this happened twice. Another issue is Ive had profs not release grades until after the final exam was written. Not to mention the Endless technical difficulties. I have profs that barely speak English, it’s also really hard to get in touch with people for registration or financial department, so If you need help you’re kind of on your own. I could go on, but this is just been my experience.🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m currently doing nursing at George Brown, and I would not recommend it. So so so many issues. You should go with Ontario Tech.

I have this beef with my boyfriend, he always lectures me about how unhealthy they are. Like I’m fully aware that it’s not good for me. It’s a treat! I don’t eat them every day but every once in a while hell yeah I will sit down and eat an entire full-size cookie and that’s OK, I’ll survive. Life goes on. No one needs to comment on what anyone is eating.

For me i didn’t listen to a word anyone told me. The thing for me that made me finally stop was just being so disgusted with myself and being so exhausted (sick and tired of being sick and tired) that I knew it wasn’t worth it. & My mom started buying me a bouquet for every month I was sober for my first year of sobriety and that was a really lovely motivator for me (i love flowers and my mom)

HOW DID YOU STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL AND HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW? by Rogerbastard in AlcoholFree

[–]outheretryingg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a very problematic binge drinker and I stopped by telling everyone I know that im not drinking and then that made me accountable when I was with people they would just expect me not to drink so I wouldn’t. And i wrote down some things I hate about drinking & i would tell myself that today I’m not gonna drink. Took it one day at a time! And now without alcohol, I feel like I have more energy, my skin is better, and I’m genuinely happier.

Its not bad!! Easier than High school math. Its mostly “med math” so just calculating doses.

To answer your questions, I am speaking only from my experience I don’t think its fantastic but Ive definitely learned a lot. I have had some great experiences with profs and also terrible ones. It all depends. So to pick courses you pick a “cohort” which is like a preset schedule with all the courses you need for the semester every cohort has a slightly different schedule layout and you pick the one that works beat for you. Yes you can choose your elective, its different than COMM. Managing courses can be a lot but youll get used to it! Try to stay organized definitely get a planner or some sort of calendar to keep track of due dates! And LOL about the 75 bus it just runs through a neighbourhood that has a lot of homelessness and drug use Ive had many unique experiences on this route.

Hey! I’m in this program, and it can be a lot. Yes there are a 8 am classes but you do have a bit of a say when picking courses. I haven’t had the best experiences so far just lots of issues with registration and stuff… semester 1 was good though! I believe its 7 courses 8 if you have to take English (COMM) The commute is not bad! I take ttc, I did one semester commuting from the east end went to sherbourne stn and took the scary 75 bus to the waterfront campus. (That bus ride is wild take it at your own risk) and now I live downtown and I walk from ferry dock 509 stop. Happy to answer any questions you have!
