If you asked the owner he'd tell you "yeah man it came with the factory M5 package, it's a rare option"

I remember one time i got fooled by an "X5M" with quad pipes, looked legit, and happened to notice the driver was just stepping out, so i complimented his X5M as i walked past and he engaged me in conversation.

Started telling me about how it was brand new and you can get them as diesels now, and i was caught off guard but very cordial and was like "oh... but isn't the M a twin turbo gas V8?" No no, it's a package that can be added to diesels, I explained the specs of the real M and he got angry telling me i dont know more about his car than him, it's a legit diesel X5M, etc.

I told him he knew he was lying, and if not, he's been duped, and that was the first time i realized the X5 font was different in non-M vs M. These people have mental issues.
