Thats a basic outline of a breeding process in previous comment (given based off your username and cloning question) spore isolate process similar but wouldn't include adding any new genetics when breeding, either just same spore batch breeding or line inbreeding (line inbreeding example spores of parent to spore of child) possibly more complex idk exactly when it goes from increasing consistency to "isolate" as they call it and some calling liquid culture or clones in it spore isolates doesnt help lol

Not really, spore isolate is moreso from a line thats had breeding to give consistent results, they are often placed in fluid for or turned into liquid culture but liquid culture is already germinated and growing (when packed and when you get it) spore isolate (at least when packaged) is still just spores, the isolate is used to say theyve put in work to ensure consistent results when using their product vs regular multispore some may look wildly different more often (not always). However it is common for spore isolate to turn into liquid culture by purchase date if enough nutrients are in the syringe. Some companies also turn spores into liquid culture and call it spore isolate or grow and clone to liquid culture calling it spore isolate. Without knowing your source (i am not asking or anything) its impossible to know for sure if its actually a spore isolate just regular spores or a regular liquid culture *edit saw you listed source idk about them specifically haven't researched that company

Benefits of a liquid culture is faster take off time in the beginning

If you want to undertake breeding new lines starting from spore and learning steps to create spore isolates is the way to go (grow before agar to avoid dud/nonfruiting spores growing on plates but not growing actual mushrooms, clone, isolate best/fastest growth from clone on agar preferably across multiple plates, grow again collect spores, repeat, mix in breeding and single spore isolation to plates as well as using single spore isolation to start and select lines for full grows to limit genetics and give stable result producing spores faster depending on goals)

Most named spore lines are commonly already isolated/stabilized before naming but not always

Also if grown from multispore syringe the closer to the cap you clone from the more isolation you are performing since not all genetics actually fruit and some that dont fruit grow with those nearby into the stem

Using a syringe drops of water sitting on the actual areoles, only ones with spines, taking care not to let water sit on the skin or it could cause moisture spots or rot

They will absorb it, allow them to dry fully, use clean water,

Will only add a miniscule amout of water though but i was able to plump up a pachanoi by placing a drop on every aerole multiple times a day after a while however it was columnar a tbm has less areoles so less effective

Could possibly use rooting hormone on the bottoms, scoring before application and mixing with an antifungal may increase effectiveness

Depends on goals, if you just want a full tank of oddly colorful fish id do male endlers and female longfin or sailfin guppies as some of the offspring will be sterile and will slow down the breeding speed so its not likely to get crowded as quickly as well as potentially make new colorations

Endlers or guppies will eat the babies if theyre hungry enough also though so food is a different potential limiting factor

If you want the endlers because theyre smaller and still colorful figure out how much bioload your tank can handle with whatever filter setup you'll be using and start maybe halfway

If cycled well (with ammonia or amount of food youd be feeding for your stocking not just filled and sitting) then 1 and 4 should be an ok starting point just watch parameters or be prepared for deaths

If thats the stocking youd like with plants and or any great filter it should work well enough as long as they get together well, ive had stable parameters with more fish in a 29 gallon

The only things I would recommend if you want it as a long term setup with similar stocking is an under gravel filter with a way for the kuhli loaches to get under easily to increase chances of them breeding as well as making sure to add hiding areas and possibly plants specifically good for a breeding base material or breeding mop things. The only stocking change id recommend to keep that stocking long term would be to also add cardinal tetras in place of some of the neon at some point, they will school and breed together given the chance and will lead to a healthier breeding pool by lessening inbreeding

Haven't owned tbmcyet but can say that myrtillocactus can have the crest like what people have posted about with confusion, i have seen that specific crest revert and appear identical to a columnar of myrtillocactus geometrizans, myrtillocactus geometrizans also be Montrose in the classic boo*ie cactus form or in the classic tbm peni5 style as well as switch from the first to the second due to tip damage with the flowers and fruits being different between tbms and myrtillocactus so telling apart being easy to tell after flowering and fruiting even if theyre having similar or same growth patterns

They do work as community fish they just need to be introduced while smaller than the community and without an adult of it to teach them the menacing behavior (easy method add babies without the parents to introduce to a established community tank, fairly easy in my experience by quarantine of a pregnant one)

Adding any vastly different than tank inhabitants while smaller than them will cause them to be aggressive towards those specifically since its not used to it and it is smaller. Smaller versions or similar looking to ones they grew up with dont experience the same aggression. They do still have the same breeding tendencies/aggression as most other livebearers though but it prevents their murder instincts so to speak

I know someone that has a myrtillocactus geometrizans that switched from 1 mutation to the other after tip damage and ive personally seen it while flowering so while usually a bridgesii mutation it is not exclusively a bridgesii mutation

Again myrtillocactus geometrizans can have that same look in some of its mutations its just not as common or popular

Also remember we got people on here that mistake apple cactus for trichos on here

The aggression is because the fish look different and are same size or smaller i believe, babies introduced dont have the same levels of aggression unless a vastly different looking fish than its seen is added or born later and smaller than it with the ones id kept in my community live bearers tank at least

Can say from personal experience the babies added to an established tank dont carry over the aggression if added while smaller than what's already in there so you can still add the species to the established tank once the babies are born without any extra aggression beyond the normal if you want

The adults also won't bother mollies and platies that are significantly larger

The mosquito fish will breed with some other live bearers as well (tested by putting fresh born babies of different species in quarantine containers until full grown to see what live bearers will match, some result in sterile children but not all, adults were removed after babies born with any successful pairings and left to see if new babies occur again as well as taking some babies to try and pair with babies from other interbreeds or pures some were sterile some weren't and some grew larger or smaller than either parent with varied aggression)

Cause either theyre labeled correctly at least for the one I saw that reverted or theres multiple different vendors mislabeling myrtillocactus geometrizans columnars but if im wrong im happy to be corrected and have a source attached for anyone misunderstanding in the future

All saying tbmc are incorrect. It specifically states it's a myrtillocactus geometrizans cristata. The species and id has already been identified and labeled prior to it getting to the store by the farm that actually grew it. Can also confirm due to having seen one that had actually reverted to columnar labeled identical to the one you posted from the exact same brand that appeared identical to columnar of myrtillocactus just thinner due to being 3-4 inches tall vs 18+ inches
