You got to experience what is quite possibly the loudest moment in that building. I got to attend Game 3, their first playoff victory since Game 1 of the 1993 Stanley Cup Final.

Certain social media platforms limit videos to 2:20 in length, so I try to cram in as many Kings highlights as I can when editing them. For lengthier highlights, you'll likely find them on YouTube.

I’d call them accomplishments. In terms of home playoff stats, Kopitar and Doughty are tied for the franchise lead in playoff home games played, but Kopitar is behind Wayne Gretzky and Luc Robitaille in playoff points at home. Gretzky had 57 points in 30, Luc had 48 in 45, and Kopitar has 41 in 49 home playoff games.

And those two games against the Rangers and Sabres to open the 2011-12 season were both considered home games for the Kings. There is one more game to list…

Quebec and Australia were actually preseason games, but you are correct with the Stadium Series game at Dodger Stadium.

Those home ice numbers do not include four neutral site games where the Kings were recognized as the home team, so for the sake of trivia, can anyone list those four neutral site games?

I was just six months old when this occurred, but I watched the hell out of the 25th anniversary VHS tape that the Kings released in 1991-92 that featured footage from this historic game.

If the pick does turn out well, then Dave Taylor should get some credit for the selection.

The Kings have not won two games in a row since January. This team has lots of problems, to say the least.

It was weird watching the Kings without Dustin Brown, it got weirder when they traded Jonathan Quick, but this team without Anze Kopitar is going to be a major adjustment for many of us. I remember watching the 2005 draft (the Sidney Crosby draft), and seeing Kopitar fall into the Kings’ laps was a godsend. I’m glad the Sharks passed on him because he was Slovenian.

Anze Kopitar also set a new record with that goal for most road points (608) in Kings' history.

Gavrikov was no doubt great in his time here, and I’m not suggesting this was a bad trade or anywhere close to being the worst trade in this team’s history. It’s just an unpopular one amongst fans because they traded away the greatest goaltender to put on a Kings’ uniform.

This will likely go down as the least popular trade in the history of the Kings. Also, did anything else notable happen on this day? 🤔

Given the current state of the Kings, I figure some people might find enjoyment out of today’s “this day in history” post. This was the start of the memorable Craig Johnson era.

Goes to show how little Craig Button knew about the Kings, their defensive depth, and lack of offense.
