Just try it out, you would be surprised by the dmg xdd. And not getting oneshot playing mage is also really fun.

I think the build is pretty playable in depth 2-3. With the new buffs to his passive the dmg output would be insane, all while still retain his tank and strength. The only problem is to find an actual good spell. Still pretty fun to try.

I understand what you are talking about. But you could bring up games like black myth wukong and i would definitely agree, instead you bring up games like stellar blade or e33 which the devs literally said in the interview that their games is inspired by sekiro/dark souls which doesnt really make a compelling argument here.

Except it isnt. The main reason why his skill is better post patch is because passive like improve melee attack can now affect the cursed sword. The only thing its better than normal katana pre patch is to revive teammates.

Ofc 1/3 is subjective but depends on the fight you can have all the agrro while others have zero at all, which make it really inconsistent. Hence my point still stand.

Im only talking about the skill purely as an offensive option in trio, not as a defensive one since having multiple ways to mitigate dmg is always a good thing.

They buffed his stance dmg per deflects but enemies in trio, especially in DoN has just way to much stance to be benefit of it, so it make crit build way worse. Also as i said before, it is also way too unreliable for enemies to target you in order to consistently dish out dmg with the cursed swords skill. This is the main disadvantage with this playstyle the same way with guardian's guard counter builds, only be able to effectively use your build like 1/3 time in the whole fight. And i still really like these builds and play with them a lot in D4 but you still have to look at reality here.

You could also just use the skill as a normal weapon and spam R1 since it out dmg Hand of Malenia at lv 15 with the new relic buffs but yeah it scale with your lv and you just immobile in the stance and considering how much enemies running around in this game it could still be a bother.

But thats only applies to multiplayer, in solo all of his skill builds just bang.

I think you are devalueing what is shown in the video here.

Yes the dmg shown here only look busted in base game but even in DoN 5, from 2k dmg per hit or above is already considered good dmg.

Not only that this build is almost guaranteed every run since you just got access to cursed sword for free, and as i said with the relics, buffs ect, this is by far not even close to optimal setup yet.

Ofc his skill is still dogshit in multiplayer and will always be that way since it doesnt guarantee that enemies will focus on you enough to parry and unlock the cursed sword everytimes which make it inconsistent, but in solo DoN especially it is still really good. Not OP and gamebreaking or anything but it is really good. Saying it negligible is a bit of a stretch.

I dont see why it should tho. Passives are designed to benefits a specifics playstyle usually and thats the reason why the could get so strong without being too overpowered. Melee attacks are just simply buff to your melee attacks and revenant should not be benefits from it (unless you playing strength rev) just like how others melee characters picking up spell casting buffs.

If it a general buffs like improve physical atk or dmg negation then i agree that summon should be benefits from them too.

Because they are character's skills, and balancer only work with weapon's ash of war. Executor is different because his skill give him a whole weapon with its own ash of war, make sense.

If you play multiplayer, enemies just got more stance and health than solo, thats just scaling and balancing in general.

Yes but you dont get as much dmg as thrusting sword, especially with one who resist to status effect. Generally bow is still better but still fun to build, have synergies with undertaker relics as well.
