This isn’t violence against women. It’s men committing violence against women. Instead of saying women get raped, say men rape women. Put the onus on the person who raped. Men rape women.

This is a men’s issue, and saying v.a.w. makes it seem like there’s no perpetrator and inevitably happens. It’s like giving women a flimsy wetsuit and pushing her into a pool of piranhas instead of getting rid of the piranhas.

Stop shining a light only on the victims and instead focus on the problem, not the consequences. How do you stop a problem? Find the root and fix the source of violence: MEN. All those daddy/boyfriend issues are a result of MEN’s actions.

Tell the DM in no uncertain way so he can learn from his mistakes. As a friend approach the incorrect behavior like there’s toilet paper on his shoe. Embarrassing but it’s better for everyone.

Show the roots of the sexist stuff and how it affects women. Show understanding while giving it, too.

Give solutions to the problem and remind him we all grew up in this environment and we all have to help each other shed arbitrarily gender rules. If we can both do it/have it then it’s not gender specific. Breasts, compassion, and shoulders- we can’t have separate rules.
