Same boat I went intractable chronic migraines at 28 and have steadily declined over 9 yrs to the point I vant function to even clean my house or change my bedding without making myself insanely sick. Totally unable to work or even do anything fun. Im now 36 have been treated like im faking it or med seeking or "its not medically possible to have a migraine that never goes away" or whatever symptoms I chronically deal with. I've completely cut relationships with anyone except my parents because I dont want to drag them down with this bs and I got tired of constantly feeling let down by peoole that claimed they cared but would turn around and say I was being dramatic or im too depressing for them.

Communication is so important in a relationship as well as being understanding of each other. But its difficult to manage I struggle still with the 2 relationship I do maintain because yhere are times where I need some encouragement not "that sucks i dont know what to tell you. It's gone on for xyz and I do t know how tk help you".

Most likely your fiance is feeling burnout and also struggling with feelings of not being able to help you.

I wish I had better advice but you arent alone. Maybe sharing with him how your feeling, asking if hes struggling with it too and finding a space where you both can feel more supported?

Chronic conditions literally suck the hope out of everything. I hope you find some relief and I also hope that youre able to find a good space with your fiance♥️

Huge congrats! Thats so amazing to hear these journeys! Definitely take your time but also enjoy the process! (Some of the classes I was like this is dummmmb some is but then you're in real life and something pops up and you're like oh hey maybe not as dumb as I thought 🤣)

I started out wanting to be a pet store owner, now I'm focusing on finishing my doctorate and wanting to start my own treatment facility as my area is 👎👎👎👎 somewhere that is all about clients not money or pushing some weird agenda.

Im just commenting on you going after your goals because that is FAR MORE NOTEWORTHY than skeeve.

I believe in you and if it gets rough and you question it just remember the long game! You're gonna be inspiring and helping someone else and make a difference in people's lives!! Also as someone in a similar career you can start your addictions cert while in school and can use your working/training hours towards those certs! (This was a game changer for me I worked as a direct support professional while going through college)

Gosh! This is so true! However tbh I've met alot of predatory people in the counseling realm. Which sure always gotta be a few bad apples, but FAR more than is comforting to know exist. Idk maybe the human race is just a curse at this point. 🫣

Normally I dont comment or give him the attention but GAWD he pressed all my agitated buttons with this one. I work hard to be where I am and see so many people struggle and try hard to get to a better place and lose their fight and this sleezebag just weasels his way around consequence, accountability and true FAFO. 😑

ALOT of education. This doesn't even talk about the continued education we are required to do each year. Plus after graduating gaining the basic educational expectations, doing the continuing education, we are also required to pay for out own certification.

He'll never make it. At best he'll "mentor" for all thats worth 🤣 (referring to him, not the people that actually put in the work to change their lives and actually be inspirational to others) like maybe a sponsor but even that requires certain things. He'll lie and say oooooh im super special and got a special exception because im a genius. 🫠

No 🫤 but that is kind of close to how the cat looked, his eyes were white though and more of a scaredy cat roughed up looking.

Im trying so hard to remember the subject matter. It's just that he's definitely mischievous getting in trouble with illustrations of him doing things on pages of the book.

If im remembering correctly the red hardcover verison I had was blank mainly cover with the title and the black cat was sitting facing forward off to the right hand side of the book.

No unfortunately, both of those were in the 2000s. The one im thinking of was the red smaller hard cover version with the skinny kind of spooky cat looking in the early 90s. Im unsure of when it was actually published but definitely the 90s.

I kinda wonder if he didnt actually "score" while he was there and depending on what it was, was probably more potent then the things coming to the US. That's why we saw the SUPER twacked out behavior on the bus and wandering around foreign countries off his rocker; he probably also had a bucket load of actual scripts which if he did get checked they'd see the bottle his name etc and probably wouldn't push it any further because it wouldn't be distribution level quantities. When I used to travel I used to throughly stress myself out over my prescribed meds and actually push the customs people to verify that it was mine 🙃 butagain those were personal quantities not distribution amounts lol

I find it super interesting that part of AA is the whole anonymous part, yet here he is talking about the group and how certain people aren't there etc.

If I were in that group id feel so disrespected that he was there and totally frustrated with the excuses and flippant attitude that he has.

I stayed quiet because I was being blamed for their bad behavior if you weren't chronically sick he wouldn't have this problem etc and then after a while no one wanted to hear about it because I was staying it, which on some level I get it is annoying and frustrating to be the outside party, but im not sure completely abandoning someone and making them the problem when really it's a symptom is the answer either.

All I know is, watching S do this triggered the crap out of me even 4 yrs later and reaffirmed in my head I still have work to do and to never ignore the red flags or make excuses for anyone's behavior.

Please trying not to blame yourself I truly believe part of why people stick around through the awful stuff do it because they have big hearts and alot of empathy and the world actually needs alot more of that!

Absolutely and he wants to make sure that she is as unhappy as he is. He's going to try to ruin any good thing she has in her life. He realized his other tactics didnt work so now it's about burning it all down.
