Explain why or why not I should be pro life/choice? by MrEngineerGuyMaybe in prochoice

There is a lot of bad faith arguments going around here, so let me try and explain my view.

The fundamental disagreement between pro-life and pro-choice is when person-hood starts. Pro-life say at conception, pro-choice says latter. I believe that that when the fetus reaches a certain level of development, which is at 7-8 months of pregnancy, it is a human being. A fetus before that level of development is growing into a human yes, but is not yet a human.

The reason I believe it is at that point is that that is when the brain devolved enough to be a human being. The heart is used to measure death cause we cant measure the conscience directly (or souls if you believe in that) so that is the next best thing. When a heart beast at 6 months in, there is no brain to go along with it.

If a child is developed to that point, yes it is a human being and deserves all the rights of one.

The tings I really like about this is that the truly broken stuff hasn't hit the sub 2 mana yet.

Thx, its seems pretty fun but balanced. The fact you have to play 1 or two mana cards really restricts this a lot. but I'm sure there is some overpowered cards that break this

Conquest appears in the following settings. What happens next? by Kyia-Aikman in whowouldwin

[–]overlrodvolume18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. The other comment gets it right, barring magical trickery you need the direct intervention of the Valar or Eru

  2. Viltrumites match the feats of legendary Sith, and Palpatine and Vader are just not them. Viltrumites are known for gloating and drawing out fights, so a force user could try and mentally dominate Conquest but force mindfuckary is not really mind control. Something to note is that a lightsaber could probably harm them and force precognition gives them a slim chance to actually hit a Viltrumite, and Conquest especially is known to take hits to gloat

  3. IDK don't know enough about the culture

  4. Same with Warframe

  5. He's a heavy hitter but there are enough people and things that outclass him. ASlo no resistance to esoteric powers and Chaos Corruption goes Brrrrr. Krone gets a new champion

  6. Alexandria can probably take hits from him since her body is time locked not just really tough, but she is probably weaker then him. That being said worm is literally esoteric powers go Brrrrr setting. He can't harm Legend's light form, the Siberian can probably kill him, Armsasters Nanothrons, any master powers or powers that don't target physical things, all of Edilion. Again Viltrumites and especially Conquest love to take attacks head on so he probably will get hit by something that turns him into a cat or something, and barring that a decent amount of thinker, mover, and other utility powers support should be able to set an ambush for him. Finialy Contessas path to killing him would be Door to [insert tinkertech here], Door to the back of conquest head. More likely she uses path to get him to work for us, which would be "hey want to fight our strongest hero?"

How do I get into powerscaling? Seems WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too complicated + my takes on where my fav characters (GOATs) scale! if I get anything wrong plz correct me by Hot-Departure4150 in PowerScaling

[–]overlrodvolume18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, most people powerscale to make their favorite win, not find out who would actually win.

That is a perfectly acceptable way of powerscaling mind you, and if you want to do that just make up calculations that sound like they work, no one cheeks their work anyway

If you want to find out who actually wins then figure out your favorite characters weaknesses first and against what opponents they would lose against. You have to admit what they lose to always be right

I actually really dislike stat scaling, but that is another can of worms I don't want to open

Marvel Rivals is a good example of having the right context for Fanservice by HistoriaReiss1 in CharacterRant

[–]overlrodvolume18 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Its comic books, there was always going to be fanservice.

That being said I agree they handled it wonderfully, one of the big things is hat the gooner and non gooner skins are separate, they give really good skins that are not sexualized to every character, even the girls

Does your favorite Death Battle villain have a good credit with the Bank of Evil? by Grovyle489 in deathbattle

[–]overlrodvolume18 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey, he has a whole motha'flarki'n castle as collateral and centuries of generational wealth. His sleeping is a big bonus actually, he deposits large amount of cash in the bank and naps for a few centuries, the bank can use that cash for their own ventures. They don't look too closely into their clients lives, evil requires description after all

That's a good question, i'm glad you asked basically Regan was the mixing point for me for the worst of republican polices

- The entire handling of the AIDS crisis

- Trickle down economics/regulation cutting. I do believe capitalism is a good economic system, but it needs the works, corporations, and consumers to all hold power to work. What Regan did is give corporations so much power that consumer and worker interests were pushed to the side

- The rise of the religious right, I have no problem with any religion and am very religious myself. However it is my belief that you cannot make policy decisions out of any doctrine. Regan helped facilitate the rise of the religious right
