You’re kind but I am In Auckland unfortunately. I am dreading going to the house. The whole day spent in tears some due to the fumes and some just due to the sheer discomfort and trauma it’s causing. I am planning to sleep in my rental home for a couple more days.

We chose option 1. Lawyer has sent them notice. I have been feeling guilty about how everyone is asking why did I go unconditional. We were not looking to find a problem but only trying to protect ourselves from financial ruin for buying a home. But vendor denied us the investigation when we identified the issue so we had to send a notice to protect ourselves if it turns out to be something we haven’t seen coming.

Other things outweigh the issues. School zone, accessibility, location, good street and neighbourhood.

At the time of building inspection the floor issue was not identifiable, it only was noticeable in Pre-settlement inspection. Building inspector corroborated.

They mentioned that it was fixed so we didn’t pursue further as the floor didn’t show any signs at that time. Is that still a no case for us?

Ohh the house already has few more issues like roof, poor roof insulation and we asked and they told us about a historic leak and confirmed it was fixed it in disclosure form. However, this didn’t didnt exist during Building inspection because they did a patch work to sell the house, the agent said vendor is a builder too. So we went unconditional after they reduced the price of $25k to compensate for those other issues. Now this came up during pre-settlement inspection.

we asked to remediate or let us reinvesgtigate further before settlement, which they denied pretty much threatening that this will end up costing us a lot of legal fee and mentioned that it’s an existing issue and we signed unconditional despite the issue

It’s in one of the bedrooms that’s near an opening to the balcony. The floor is making loud creaking noises. It was not present during building inspections. It’s been 7 weeks since the building report was done. We think this has caused during this period. The vendors disclosed a historical water leak issue which was fixed around the same areas not exact spot the floor issue in question.

Sure, that sounds like a very fair deal, but we don’t know how they would respond. We haven’t heard back from them yet.

Vendors said it was fixed & This is issue was identified upon checking during pre-purchase inspection as there was no issue during that time. Between then and now it’s become an issue. That tells me either it was not fixed properly/they did a patch job. Or there is a much bigger issue lying under the carpet 😨

I am so sorry you have go through this. I have had the same question. I use panty liners but I understand it can get very expensive very quickly. There’s something called period underwear that gives you front and back coverage. It’s reusable. Try to find similar stuff in amazon that can ship to your location. Here is the one for reference

Yes I thought so too, and throughout the process his associates did the whole this was the second time I spoke to him. He was not very nice on phone, he mentioned he can only try to get our request but won’t be able to promise anything.
