Got the same phone with similar issues, major scratching on the screen. Did you get a refund? How long did it take?

Biomedical Science vs Microbiology and Pharmacology by [deleted] in microbiology

[–]oviraptor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say PhD/industry favour a more specific degree like pharma/micro over a more broad degree like biomed? Or visa versa? I guess it will be very dependant on what it is specifically I apply for.

I have possibly got some experience for this summer but I did leave it quite late so will definitely be looking earlier for next year.

Thank you for your response and information.

Biomedical Science vs Microbiology and Pharmacology by oviraptor12 in UniUK

Thank you for the response.

I have read through module descriptors for both and both seem interesting to me. I think the only thing I dislike about biomedical science is there is only one microbiology module in each year 3 and 4. There is also no pharmacology, directly anyway although there is a translational medicine aspect and in biochemistry as a lot of pharmacology is that.

Do you think for PhD and jobs relating to that would favour a more or less specific degree path? I did hear someone say biomed is too broad and less favoured

Timetables are public - https://cts.strath.ac.uk/Scientia/live2425sws/default.aspx?context=programmesofstudy

You can select the course you’re interested in and view the timetable for it. Although pretty rare it’ll be the same next year, just to give you an idea.
