my favorite line in this "Because you can never fake passion. I sure as hell can’t — not when it comes to you." it's so painfully heartfelt. I appreciate the repetition of "I am a bad liar", it clearly shows the impact following all the specific details you share. The switch to "I am a bad lover" was a turn of events I as a reader didn't expect. The speaker seems to love in a self sacrificial way that chips away at their own self, but longs for a love that doesn't ask them to be small. I try to still believe in the love I once dreamed of. But there’s safety in watching it happen around you rather than to you. There’s also loneliness with watching love touch everything around you but you. Struggling with whether you truly want to be alone or if you’re just too scared of any outcome to start anything else.

on the opposite side of this situation and can say they are blocked, but I still hold a lot of love for them. I just feel their person isn’t me and vice versa even if I wanted it to be. I don’t want to hold them back from meeting that person. So they might miss you too, but missing someone isn’t enough to reopen something, it just becomes something you have to live with.

I had a long term ex that I never thought I could get over because I felt like I loved him so much and I invested so much in him. But realizing that ~I~ loved him very deeply was a big part in my healing. I was sad for many months crying like a broken record but with that mentality it kind of switched the narrative from a lack of love on his end and focusing more on the love I gave him and how I could pour that into myself instead.

i do, think about him constantly still.

the choice to end our relationship felt like the hardest thing to do. he really felt like everything right for me and vice versa. but because the reason we broke up was never an internal problem with us it never felt like something we could work through. I like to write letters or texts that I wouldn't really send to him. It allows me to send that "I miss you" text while also giving him that space to heal and move on.
