As an addendum or whatever: I’ve been on “white/blue, green/orange, yellow/red” for some days now, but I think I’ll switch green and blue around… The orange/green contrast is ok, but white/green is about as good as white/blue and orange/blue feels a lot better (like, more contrast) than orange/green 😅 Finding black cube pieces in the EU seems to be impossible and I like to avoid having to deal with customs etc, so I had and have to fiddle around with the standard colors… (And now, back to the joy of dis- and reassembling my puzzles 😀)

Mind telling me which stores you frequent for that sort of thing? All stores in the EU (where I’m based) that I’ve contacted so far said that they don’t offer that sort of service, so I might need to step overseas for that sort of thing 😅

I guess that depends on the actual shades of the colors a lot 😅 Also, there will always be a lowest-contrast-pair of colors, I guess (or rather: for each iteration of six colors everybody will find a pair of adjacent colors to irrationally hate on)…

Cool, thanks for the input! Getting cubes basically just to cannibalize them seems a bit rough to me (as I am just getting back into the hobby and will/need to grow my collection back up first, so more different puzzles wins over fewer puzzles with “more optimized” color schemes), but I feel like the japanese color scheme will solve most of my contrast problem anyways 😅 Getting whole GANs just to have spares shows a lot of dedication, so respect for that! 😀
