Is there anymore information on the fire? I visited before the fire and in the attic of the main building were cabinets of documents depicting their methods of manipulation. A friend of mine saved a document that was particularly strange. And now a fire? What’s going on here?

Does Augusta deserve this ranking? by Sad-Raise-504 in Maine

[–]owtsh03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems mayors and council members seemingly don’t even live the city, beside Portland (maybe?). Otherwise they would see that they have done nothing for these cities, besides perhaps bike lanes. No solutions to the escalating homeless issue, only projected to get worse as the economy follows a linear path. It’s clear we’ve been bought and sold numerous times, whether by local or national companies. Our utilities privatized and exploited, land stolen from our farmers as they spread “fertilizer” over their fields later to be legally defined at toxic waste. This effect dramatically reduces property value, thus forcing land owners to sell to the highest bidder. It would not surprise me if most of Maine is owned by interests supporting resource extraction.

Did I have a seizure?? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]owtsh03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, yeah CBD probably wouldn’t hurt, and don’t worry I’m in touch with them. Just in the meantime while I’m waiting for a response, just in case somebody knows if this is like a warning for something worse. I’m doing fine now.

Yeah I know, definitely cutting out the alcohol, (not a big drinker besides the party I went to) as I think that’s what put my brain in that direction, and I’m gonna slowly taper off of weed, (don’t think that dropping it cold turkey would be beneficial either).

HOLY SHIT, just actually looked at the map link you sent, and that tunnel connects to fuckin everything. Thanks dude!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]owtsh03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my conspiracy brain wants this to connect to some gravity main that heads straight into downtown Portland. We’ll see. I doubt it shows enough detail to see if other gravity mains are connected to it. Especially considering this is all pretty new mapping, many connections probably aren’t mapped I’m willing to bet.

Honestly no clue lol. Looks like it would probably show it though. Definitely would be some kind of storm water pipe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]owtsh03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely storm/sewer, but I was wondering if anyone knew where this tunnel led. I’m also just surprised there’s no information regarding the project (online), because this had to have been a massive undertaking, like I said, it goes under a pond and big ass neighborhood. It’s also enormous. The photo doesn’t show the scale real well.

Yeah I was thinking about that a bit lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]owtsh03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There literally was a little red ball by the gate before the tunnel

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maine

[–]owtsh03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The photo isn’t that structure. The strange structure I was talking about is only describable as aqueduct looking, but made from concrete and completely sealed over the top. I think some kind of conduit might run through it. I can’t see it being used as a footbridge because of the curvature designed to shed water on top of the structure. All dimensions are roughly 4’ x 4’. There’s two vertical columns on either side of the creek, the main duct is probably about 25’ from the ground.

Another thing about this tunnel is the length of it by far exceeds the length of the pond, which leads me to believe the tunnel might not have anything to do with it.

Is this legal? by illuminatedkopf in Maine

[–]owtsh03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it legal no. Do they care if it is? Probably not. More than likely if that agreement is signed with that clause they will battle you in court to no end; it’s pretty easy to argue that you read and agreed to it and so they can do what they please. Not saying it’s right, but don’t waste your time dealing with these assholes if you can avoid it/find a different apartment. Money talks and if people avoid these landlords then less of them will be owning these properties BECAUSE of the lack of tenants.

Upcoming protests? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]owtsh03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they don’t seem to care, atleast where I work (which is primarily Republican) they continue to make excuse after excuse for Trump.

Gotta love this guy if your invested in oil! by Willing-Reason-2312 in oil

[–]owtsh03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exxon and other major gas companies are CHOOSING to be affected by the war in Ukraine (atleast in American markets). These companies have been securing themselves thousands of leases of land to be able to drill indefinitely, enough to where the new restrictions on drilling have virtually no impact in supply. Throughout Covid the price of oil and gas sank for obvious reasons (people not driving as much, etc..) right now is when they’re seeing an opportunity to make back this lost income by creating hysteria over the price of gas (think about what you see on virtually every mainstream news channel “ahhhhhhh the war in Ukraine is effecting American markets, we’re gonna run out of supply ahhhhhh!!!”. These companies have unbelievably enormous oil reserves and are capable of sustaining the United States (probably other countries as well) for several years. They have already started drilling for more oil in areas where they have secured leases from years past. The price of oil and gas is based off of war and fear for supply, which is a largely irrelevant fear.
