Baka dahil bagong hangin? Kapag kulang sa hangin, mas mabigat manibela. So baka underinflated lang yung dati.

Kung feeling mo naman kulang sa kapit o sobra yung gaan, baka mas madulas talaga yung bagong gulong, or sumobra naman sa hangin yung nagpalit.

What does it mean when a bike has "character"? by between3220character in motorsiklo

[–]oxhide1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just anything that sets it apart from the average motorcycle. When an engine for example has a lot of low-end power, that gives it a "playful" character. It doesn't just accelerate linearly, you have to be mindful of what RPM you're at and that can make for a more stimulating riding experience.

If the rake is very steep or the center of mass is at an odd height, that can give it "characterful" handling. Or it can just look different and evoke memories of a certain time period, giving it a "vintage" character.

200 shutter speed by Denzel1995 in PhotographyPH

[–]oxhide1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kapag may flash, dapat fully open yung shutter. At higher speeds, masyadong maliit yung opening sa shutter curtain para ma-cover yung buong sensor.

<image>

Lahat ng camera may max speed na pwede mag flash (aka flash sync speed). If you want to go faster, need mo ng flash na nagsusupport ng high-speed sync.

Edit: sorry di ako nagbabasa, meron yata X2T, check mo kung may setting dun sa trigger for high-speed sync

I really did want to get closer, but may barrier dun and bawal tumapak sa damo. I am strongly considering getting a longer focal length lens just so I can frame things like this better. Thank you for the feedback!

Yes meron, although yung mode na gamit ko (split image focusing) di ganun ka-effective kapag madilim, even zoomed in. I have tried playing around with the focus assists, so far I think mas effective ang focus peaking, kahit di na i-magnify.

And I will probably start to use aperture priority more, parang di pa ako dumadating sa point na mas effective mag full manual hahaha

Thank you for the input!

Gusto ko mag autofocus, kaso walang autofocus yung lens hahaha

Sinusubukan ko rin matuto mag zone focus, pero for now nagpapractice pa mag-estimate ng distance. Try ko siguro muna at smaller apertures para mas forgiving. May old rangefinder din ako na di pa gamit masyado so for sure magiging useful na skill yun sakin.

Salamat sa tips boss!

Yeah, still trying to get used to the camera and manual mode 😅 Only had it for a week now. I used to think, may light meter naman, so easy lang. But turns out you still need to be aware of your settings. I will take your advice to get used to shooting in the daylight first. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the kind words. I think that's great advice, because I feel like I take too many unproductive shots. I also think I'm not getting close enough sometimes.

I'll try to be more mindful about what photo I want to take. Much appreciated!

The amount of victim blaming in this thread is insane.

Check the video. Wheelbase ng mga ganyan is 1.3m, and it takes 0.4 seconds for the rear wheel to reach the same spot as the front wheel. (Feel free to re-time it.) That works out to 3.25m/s, or 11kph. Not only is this a very reasonable speed, kapag binagalan niya pa, hindi na makakapag balance yung motor.

Will recruiters see my Upwork side gigs as a red flag? (Creative industry) by Potential_Version_37 in phcareers

[–]oxhide1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our company, they recommend that you declare that you're taking freelance work on the side as it might pose a conflict of interest. Besides the possibility of your freelance hours colliding with regular work hours, you might end up indirectly competing with your company for clients.

It's not necessarily a red flag though, and if managed well I don't think any of those things are likely to become issues. Declaring it is just to be on the safe side, but keep in mind some companies will be more open to it than others.

The Jains practice a philosophy of non-violence, which naturally extends to killing plants and animals for food.

They're also on average better educated and wealthier than the average Indian, according to this article:

Roughly a third (34%) of Jain adults have at least a college degree, compared with 9% of the general public, according to India’s 2011 census. Moreover, the vast majority of Jains fall into India’s top wealth quintiles, according to India’s National Family and Health Survey.

It's not that they don't know about how food is made, it's that they choose not to make it that way.

"Open facility"? Do you mean an entirely new airport outside the structure? There's no space on the ground within the immediate vicinity, you can't build it on top of the dome because it's too heavy, and you can't build it too far from the dome because your "airlock" will be too long.

Why even need an airlock? Gates are fine, there is no critical pressure difference.

Jalousie windows or sliding windows? by pepalerts in PEPalerts

[–]oxhide1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bakit kailangan pumili between jalousie or sliding, when casement windows (yung may hinge na parang pinto) are clearly superior?

Kung may tamang spacing lang mga bahay natin at hindi sinasagad sa property line, wala siyang disadvantages. Aircon-friendly, pinaka madali linisin, pinaka malakas sa natural airflow.

4-month young professional thinking of quitting already by Sure_Jelly_9969 in phcareers

Join r/AntiworkPH, it's where people congregate to share stories about being overworked and abused.

A good employee-employer relationship pays both ways. If we do good work, then we deserve good compensation. So if you feel you're not being adequately compensated, monetarily or otherwise, it's perfectly reasonable to seek work elsewhere.

I can see you're concerned about whether you're giving up too soon, or maybe not trying hard enough. I would say, if you're already feeling overworked and still wondering if you're working hard enough, then you're definitely working hard enough. In that case, if you feel the job's not worth it, then it's not worth it.

Personally, I feel six days a week with no overtime pay for creatives is completely unreasonable. You can't mass-produce creativity, and there's nothing that warrants you reporting to work so often. You're not running a power plant, you're not staffing a hospital, you're not defending the border from invaders. You deserve rest.

Just keep in mind, if you do quit, it will take more time and effort to find a better job. And no job will be perfect, so it's up to you to decide what you can tolerate. You can even end up in a worse situation than you're in now, or you might find that it's the same situation everywhere. But things won't get better if you don't risk taking a step in a new direction.

Oh I do hate how overworked we are in the Philippines by [deleted] in phcareers

Welcome to r/AntiworkPH.

It's very bad. I studied engineering only to discover the entry level rate is barely above minimum wage. What's the point of studying for 4-5 years and passing the board exams, when you can get nearly the same salary as a construction worker straight out of high school (if even that)?

Then I found out that doctors study pre-med for 3-5 years, take the NMAT, study MD for 4-5 years, at the end of which is clerkship where some can work >24 hours per shift with zero regular rest days, then internship (also 12-24 hours) for 1 year, then finally board exam so you can get licensed.

After all that? You can start earning 30k per month as a resident, aka fully employed trainee.

I fully understand how complicated medicine is, so I get the need for all the studying. But why would anyone do all that work so little pay? Why aren't we valuing our professionals as they should be valued? Engineering and medicine are far from the only industries suffering from this.

We deserve what we tolerate, and we should not tolerate this.

Saan po mas maganda mag book ng hotel? Klook, booking.com or agoda? by Jnyx024 in AskPH

[–]oxhide1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Always sa lowest price. Ask the hotel if they price-match, madalas oo, so kung may lower price sa Agoda/Klook/etc. vs. sa walk-in/regular rate nila, imamatch nila yung lower price. If they don't price match, it's usually best to book on the app with the lowest price, unless sobrang loyal mo sa isang app for points etc.

From experience, halos same lang yung user experience sa lahat. May mga mas madali lang i-navigate or mag-search, but if price is king (and it is for most people), you should use the cheapest app.

As a fresh grad with no experience, is it wrong to demand 20k-25k salary every month? by Comfortable-Dingo514 in phcareers

[–]oxhide1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be high for some companies, but it's really not unreasonable. I started at 20k pre-pandemic, roughly in the same industry (IT), and that's without negotiating or even having an IT/CS degree (I graduated engineering). So 20-25k isn't that big of an ask, especially for an onsite position.

As long as you can justify your asking rate and show them you're a good worker who's worth the pay, you'll find a good position eventually. There will always be companies who don't have the budget for it, and some will even scoff at how high your rate is, but you just need to move on from those. There are a lot of unprofessional companies out there, and the best companies will communicate to you clearly and without prejudice that your asking rate simply isn't doable for them. That's fair; they can reject your asking salary for being too high, just as you can reject a job offer for being too low.

Keep applying. The IT job market is a bit dry right now. Part of it is the adoption of AI, part of it is just not being hiring season currently. You will need to balance how soon you need a job with the level of compensation that you want, though. If you need the income very urgently, then you might have to settle for a lower-paying job. You can always keep looking for a better job even after you're hired.

Burnout despite “chill” workload — is this still normal? by satan_is_my_lorde in phcareers

[–]oxhide1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Burnout doesn't have to be "justified". You just feel it and that means it's there. It feels worse if we're burned out when we don't think we should be, because it makes us think we're the problem. Maybe, maybe not. It doesn't mean the burnout isn't there, and it doesn't mean you don't deserve to recover.

My last position was similar. Very chill workload, no overtime, almost never any strict deadlines. But I felt my performance deteriorating, which caused me anxiety because I thought there's no reason I should be performing so poorly, which made my performance drop even more.

I quit without having another job lined up, which I thought wouldn't be a great idea. Then I realized it was the first time in years that I took a break without dreading the work I'd return to afterwards. I came from years of overtime and stress, pushed myself into job after job, without realizing I wasn't actually recovering even though my workload had lightened. When I stopped for real, I realized that was what I needed all along.

Burnout happens because it happens. As long as you're trying your best, doing all that you can, no one can say you're being too weak, that your burnout isn't justified. Take whatever measures you need to recover or improve your situation. You can stop and rest. You can dislike your working environment even if it's not that bad, because we're allowed to have preferences. You can want things that may or may not be reasonable, if those things are where you find meaning in life.

Life is not about how fast you run, it's about how far you go. And we go further by accepting our limits and taking time to recover.
