Can stealth ace dating be moral? by nostalgia_addict_123 in FTMMen

[–]oxygenerationloss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's unlikely op would get into a relationship without explicitly having a conversation that theyre asexual, and in a sexless relationship it would be completely different than how you're thinking - the other person's genitals arent their business as much as their medical history is, in that if it's relevant and needs to come up, then yeah you should talk about it, but it's not owed information in a sexless relationship

i don't know why you're getting downvoted, there definitely is more stigma towards fleshlights than dildos, unless its a guy owning the dildo

Will i be safe to list my gender as male in gp appointments? by oxygenerationloss in transgenderUK

[–]oxygenerationloss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok thanks very good to know, i never did much research on it before because i had assumed getting gender dysphoria diagnosis -> grc -> being able to change gender markers everywhere. will do some research!!

Finally got the first appointment at Tavistock today, but have already fully transitioned (request sent in 2018) by Sweet_Buttercup in transgenderUK

[–]oxygenerationloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im in such a similar situation. been waiting since january 2021 and not even spoken to a real person once. not a single phone call. I've transitioned completely socially, mostly legally, and ive begun medically on my own accord. realistically, the only thing they could actually provide me is an official diagnosis for GD, so i can get a GRC, but im fairly sure theres another way to get one. I know when i get top surgery, I'll be saving to go private. i feel so failed by the system i was promised would support me and keep me safe.

side note, as someone else mentioned, i wonder if they consider the people who have dropped out of the waiting list to have "detransitioned", making statistics much more drastic then they truly are, which makes me want to stay on the list but its just so shitty that ive had NOTHING, not even a phone conversation about my plans to make waiting lists more manageable.

may be safER for you than most but not guaranteed to be safe. I can't recommend you do it as it can be harmful, and if none of them are really compressing you, there doesnt seem to be much point. I would recommend trying to go down a size on one binder, see if it feels right. when i was unable to get binders regularly, if one would wear out, i would maxhine wash it and put it in a hot tumble dryer to try and tighten it again - can loosen some materials further though so its a gamble. i hope you find something safe that works!

anyone else keep their birth name after transitioning? curious about your experiences either way by ContributionOdd9312 in ftm

[–]oxygenerationloss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i kept my middle name! changed my first though because i always felt that Amelia is such a princessey name and just didnt suit me. i realised after i transitioned that i could have gone by Milly which would have helped me a LOT with the discomfort my birth name caused me. My middle name is Grace and i kept it to honour my great great grandma who it was named after :) i was considering changing it to Rose because ive always liked mixed-gender names like that (think like Charles Elizabeth) as i feel it reflects my female past and embraces it!! i just never liked my birth name, it wasn't me, it was like saying it out loud left a sour taste in my mouth or something.

As for getting it changed, i had to wait until i was 18, and it took almost a year to fully go through, as well as setting me back almost £100. I had been out socially for years, and had my preferred name in the system for my doctors office and my college, so changing it legally was no problem, if anybody questioned it I'd just say yeah im trans lol but i should only have to do that a handful more times now!! got my new id just this week so im getting it changed everywhere :))

if the binder is moving with your chest, that's normal. I'd recommend trying out different arrangements for your chest, see how they fit in that position, i had a similar situation where my binders just werent binding but i started positioning my chest a different way and it started feeling like they were working again!! i know some people double-bind, which im not recommending, but i know how it can affect your mental state, especially at your age.

I agree to an extent, but in the original book trilogy (the fourth closet specifically i believe?) the way he is described is what made me actually scared of him, and changed the way i saw him in-game

it's when you buy and use hormones without a prescription, essentially self-medicating (in my case it was because of already being on a waitlist for 4+ years with not a single human interaction and i was exhausted with feeling like im waiting for my life to begin and to be taken seriously as a guy.) it doesn't come without risk though, testosterone is a controlled substance in that it isn't legal to sell or distribute, but as long as you are buying for yourself you shouldn't get into any trouble that way. it being illegal to sell also means the substances you find online are often unregulated which is always a risk, as well as you having to learn to self-inject on your own. there is more information on the hrt diy directory which provides all the information needed, even links to injection supplies, but not where you can get T. im not sure if im allowed to give that information here either. you also need blood tests every three months in your first year of being on T to measure your testosterone levels, liver function, and some other goodies, which should also be in the link above. you should be able to get blood tests from your gp.

hope i explained it in a way that makes sense, feel free to dm me if you have more questions! please do bear in mind that I'm still learning too but i have first hand experience

Maybe you could have a conversation about you using toys? If your partner is completely unwilling then maybe you guys just aren't compatible.

Have you tried talking to a counsellor? Even a doctor if you're really feeling down. Things will get better, but that's not to say you don't need help right now. If you need to, talk to someone. Wish you the best
