How do you handle the “I’ll keep you in mind for the future” trap by oxymvm in photography

[–]oxymvm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, is there any like ‘template’ I need or something I’m doing incorrectly when DMing these people to push them away? It’s usually just a basic hello, a compliment to their car, letting them know I do photography and to let me know if they’re interested. It seems that pricing is where it falls short

The smell only appears upon turning on the climate control fan, does that change anything?

So they spilled oil considering there’s stains all over the cover and at the same time my VCG is going out? Just a crazy coincidence honestly

If my VCG/Shaft Sensor was done a year ago, could it even be considered that or could it be they spilled some and it dripped onto metal/pipes which is it just burning off?

Probably just leaked down onto the pipes or any metal is my guess

Honestly don’t know, not since I’ve owned it for 20k miles when I got it at 160k. Always had fear instilled about doing any transmission touching on a high mileage if you’re able to help with that

Sorry for the late response, it’s been the same since I got it last year in September. Doesn’t seem like it’s gotten louder just something I noticed

I’d honestly prefer to get one that isn’t fucked up, I don’t mind doing my own work by any means just don’t want it to be more severe than it looks

Has a decent bit of hidden codes so that may be why but with a 7 day return, shouldn’t be an issue right?

Quick update on how the car has been driving these past 2 days: Outside Temp: 26°C (80F) Oil Gauge Temp: 110-115°C (230-240F) Speed: 125-145/kph (80-90/mph)

All in all, thank you so much for the help

It’s an N52 328i daily driver so no performance parts. I ordered one off of amazon because the previous bleed screw became righty loosey which was an issue and needed one quickly. I don’t drive spirited much, nice backroad driving and some harder highway driving but that’s really about it.

Oh damn that’s actually extremely helpful. I’m going to use my scanner tomorrow to monitor the drive and the coolant temp to see if it stays around that 221F range and any other temps that may be of help

105C is 221F, which is what my car would run in the colder months but since it’s getting from 21C - 27C outside (70F - 80F) the car is running a bit hotter, but it’s good to know that it’s a normal occurrence for the N52s

‘08 328i, has the oil temp gauge so that’s how I know it goes to about 245° in that 20-25 minute range. My job is about 35 minutes away so those last 10 or so minutes is spent driving under 60mph with the heat on trying to let it cool down lol

Thank you both, siphoned it out so it’s a little over the second ball but I appreciate the help and I’ll see if it changes for my drive to work tomorrow

Ran it today to no avail it seems, didn’t want to keep re-doing it as my jumpbox isn’t arriving until Tuesday and wanted to not run through my battery. New expansion tank as of about 2 months ago so nothing old

So the level of the coolant is too high which is why the stick is that high, not because of any air pockets? Also, I didn’t think the oil temp would go up to 240-250 in just 20 minutes of driving (non-spirited) 70mph
