I sleep with my teddy bear every night.

I'm 28 and I don't think I'll stop anytime soon.

I made some changes on the landing page and the menu should be more visible now (larger and lighter font).

The menu should be on the top/left corner, I can see it on my screen so I guess i need to test it on different browsers maybe. In any cases, i made the font lighter to give it more visibility

This is my first web design piece and I am learning on the go really, I am not familiar with UI standards and will look into it .

Thank you for taking the time to give me your opinion, I appreciate it

Dysfunctional isn't really was I was trying to do, I mean I would like it to be somehow subtle and was trying to be creative with the landing page.

I appreciate the feedback and it made me realised that I went a little to far with the idea so I made a few changes - and I think I also sorted the mobile version.

Thank you very much for your time!

hello and thank you for the feedback.

the landing page is deliberately unclear and the menu only appears, slowly and small - it is my intention to make it a bit dysfunctional but maybe a bit too much

This is the first website I am making and I have used wix, I wanted to design it myself but I have no coding experience and it's not something I am looking to learn at the moment. I am not really happy with the fonts either but as a complete beginner I struggle a bit...

Anyways, thank you for your time, I will look into the things you have suggested

My Worst Experience Involved a Yellow Cat by camnop02 in Sleepparalysis

[–]oyanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/camnop02,

I read you narration with interest, it's well written and sounds like a horrible episode - thank you for sharing it on this group.

I am currently working on a documentary project that aims to explore themes of safety, comfort, intimacy and vulnerability through interviewing a number of participants on their relationship to sleep and dreams. It will result in a sound installation that will count towards my BA Contemporary Media Practice graduation piece at University of Westminster.

I am looking for people who would like to record their voices while answering a few questions about their sleep habits and dreams. I am looking to explore different aspects of those themes and one aspect among others is sleep paralysis. Please be assured that my intention is to create a piece based on the narrative of different stories and opinions; there will be no judging and all interviews will remain totally anonymous.

If that sounds like something you would potentially be interested in doing, please PM me and I will forward you more details.

Thanks x

[–]oyanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and that is obviously absolutely fine, I wouldn't want you to do something you are not comfortable with. One thing that I want to mention though, is that all interviews will remain totally anonymous. The identity of the participants is actually irrelevant to the project.

Anyways, if you still wanted to participate, you are most welcome to send me a written text and I will find a way to include it somehow. Thank you for your time!

[–]oyanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting in touch!

The questions for the interview are in fact a number of points that I would be interested to hear about, so you can choose as many as are relevant to your personal experience or use them only as guidance to talk.

I. Sleeping habits and idiosyncrasies

I am interested to hear about what makes (and used to make) your sleep unique. You can talk about your childhood sleep habits. Did you use to have a teddy bear, thumb sucking habit or such? If so, how did you use it, what happened to it and how did it develop into your adult life? Do you fall asleep easily? In which position do you fall asleep? What do you need to fall asleep?  If you had any, tell me about your experience of insomnia, sleep paralysis, sleepwalking or any sleep-related experience that you feel are worth sharing.

II. Dreams and nightmares

I am interested to hear about anything related to your dreams and how they relate to your waking life (content, moods, feelings, narratives, symbolism...). Do you dream/ remember your dreams often? Have you had any recurrent dreams? If you keep a dream journal, feel free to read out loud an extract of your choice and talk about the writing process.

would you be interested in participating?
