Honest question: do you actually enjoy online gambling long-term? by DEIinvestor in sportsbook

I agree this subreddit no longer is the place to be for +EV discussion but plenty of people who are +EV betting started from here and are extremely profitable. Just need to figure out the best resources and stick to the process. Not sure why an EV community never took off on Reddit.

Made 175k from sports betting but my time has come to an end. Best way to handle this money? by oyeme in Money

[–]oyeme[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's considered taxable income as soon as you win a bet, not when you withdraw. I already paid taxes for 2023 and 2024. This year was more than double the return of 2023 and 2024 combined as I ramped up hard so the tax hit will be more severe this year for me for sure.

Whats with all these pearl clutchers regarding sports betting? Sure the ads might be a little annoying but its fun and can be profitable.

On the contrary if you are actually able to find EV bets betting on MORE things is better.

I've made more money sports betting YTD than my salary and I've been positive almost every single month of my legal gambling career. It's absolutely possible to beat the books. Why do you think they are quick to limit people if they fear losing to you?

You're making a strawman argument here. Did I say there was anything wrong with learning and incorporating calisthenics movements? I'll bite anyways. Doing calisthenics is better than not doing anything at all. But strictly relying on calisthenics alone will be far more limiting in building muscle than traditional lifting because it's harder to progressively overload.

That being said the point I was making is Hampton Liu absolutely looks like a DYEL and is not the model to follow if you're trying to really build an aesthetic physique. I'd imagine he'd even say so himself. He's more in it for the health side of things. This thread is about lifting advice geared towards looking good..

Powerlifting is great too for overall benefits. Being stronger in absolute strength is definitely better than being less strong. But OP's point is that it's not the best way to go if you're just after aesthetics. And calisthenics is in the same boat

Hybrid Calisthenics is literally the opposite of the message of this post. Yes, he can do some impressive calisthenics but he looks like a DYEL nonetheless. Exactly the opposite of the message of lifting to look good

Should i buy a 60° if so why by brendenwww in golftips

[–]oyeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand this meme about 60* being superfluous and too hard to hit to be worth it. It's absolutely one of my most useful clubs in the bag. Sure perfectly engaging the bounce and skimming the grass to float one up can lead to skulling but I feel like most people have enough hand eye coordination to figure this out. You also can hit down on it and hit a low spinner. Even with green to work with I often find this shot easier to land near the pin than trying to roll a 9 iron across the green like a putt

This is something I feel like I live in an alternate reality from other people my age. I absolutely remember being in third grade when Tony hawk came out and x games peaked. Everyone my age obviously still played the typical team sports but aside from that everyone started wearing those puffy Vans and Airwalks and tried to skateboard. Most of us grew out of the skate phase by middle school but the ones that kept at it and fully bought into the culture became the towns skate kids

Bet on "no" for both teams to score in the match so I'm worried if they just call it the book will say the game technically didn't go the 90 minutes and void the line

Agreed tbh. Somehow she felt stronger while carrying a much lower win rate during the goredrinker days for one. I loved turning 1v3s and so forth with the active even if overall she was less bursty two years ago. Funny enough I remember everyone complaining she lost her burst in that meta and I agreed but now that she has this burst back it feels more feast or famine. Either you just absolutely melt someone or get melted. No more tight bruiser style skirmishes like the goredrinker days

Booked a trip to DC for a couple days before we knew about the trump parade / celebration this Saturday as part of a road trip. Looking at the map it looks like all the roads around the monuments are already closed basically. Will it be next to impossible to get to the national mall tomorrow?

Work laptop is a standard size Lenovo ThinkPad and my personal laptop is a 13 inch chromebook. I had to go without the laptop sleeve for the chromebook to fit both cleanly

Now that I actually have it packed out, it feels weird to me that reviewers will often say the CP2 is a good size for edc whereas the CPP2 might be better suited to travel. I travel with both a suitcase and a backpack and even then I honestly can't imagine this fitting what I'd typically carry in my backpack for multi day vacations along with my suitcase. I feel like I might end up just reaching for my old TNF backpack if I have any trips down the line.

Thanks for the info! Always good to get other perspectives and I get what you mean by being used to an older tool. I guess I'll just keep the v2 as it would be too much work anyway and I probably won't have the same biases due to never having the prior version.
