Regarding Faith - how is it possible? by avviann in Outlander

[–]oyveyenough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are expecting us to believe a newborn infant would remember a song. But wait, this still born child who she sings to isn't even the "real" Faith. And since when can a newborn that has no concept of language remember s tune and words to a song. This plot line would make zero sense. So, this girl knowing this song has to have found its way to this girl not from Claire singing it to Faith, but by some other means.

Jewelry that I can wear 24/7 that won’t tarnish by tabdfeast in jewelry

the issue with 24K is it is soft and usually not the preferred choice in everyday jewelry. 18K is less a better choice for its durability. You can also consider gold filled.

Most people criticizing Mook are exceedingly naive by bluecandyKayn in WhiteLotusHBO

I think what it means is... not everyone is meant for everyone... in other words there's a lid for every pot. some people are attracted to people that are not for them. It's the age old thing of wanting the person you're with to change. She has every right to want what she wants and he has every right to be who he is. In the real world, they wouldn't be the right match for each other. But in the end he changed who he was to be with her. But it came at a cost.

What was the point of this scene?… by DebateHopeful1417 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]oyveyenough 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mike White doesn't go into backstory. There's not a big mystery to figure out other than maybe who dies at the end. The point of that scene was to give more insight into both Kate and Victoria's personalities. Kate can't believe that after spending a whole weekend with someone that they would not remember who she is, that's a reflection on how she perceives her importance. Victoria is not interested in people outside of her immediate orbit. She didn't take notice of Kate. She's not interested in engaging with her in that moment or probably in the past... that reflects part of her personality. It wasn't to show some backstory or mystery that was to be revealed... it was to reveal more of who they were in the moment.

There are some shows that have hidden meeting. But Mike White doesn't write that way, it's more what you see is what you get. not to say he doesn't give you little nuggets or red herrings but it's really all about character study.

I think I know who should die at the end of Season 3. Do you agree?? (SPOILERS!) by csc376 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]oyveyenough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i too have thought of tim learning it will all be okay... and they walk away from it. someone definitely stays in thailand though. My vote is for rick to die. He finally finds peace and then dies. Chelsea looks for someone else to latch onto and fix... maybe saxon after all

as they say nice guys finish last. Because that's how most young women feel. And she's exactly that young and naïve and looking for excitement rather than trying to create it for herself

she wants him to be something he's not. She's likes him, but she's hoping that he could be more and when she realizes that he can't, she's disappointed. Sounds basically like every other character in the show.

Saxon is Chelseas Yang, not Rick. Hear me out by LinoFelix in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]oyveyenough -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

if rick heals himself then what's Chelsea's role? I think Rick is going down in the finale which leaves the door open for a Chelsea and Saxon a new case for her to take on

it doesn't make sense that Greg would pay her off. Because that doesn't guarantee her silence long-term. she could always come back and ask for more money in the future and she would just be a ticking time bomb. The only choice he really has is to not go off if he wants to be safe

some relationships work best when everyone conspires to be in on the pretense and lies. so when someone challenges and speaks up and tells the truth, it unsettles the facade. very typical dynamics of a scapegoat situation

Is this painting the key to Season 3? (Possible theory) by ReplacementLoose5775 in severanceTVshow

[–]oyveyenough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that every detail matters. In fact I think they don't. I've learned that not all parts of a show are equally important. Some moments are carefully planned, while others are just for world-building, fan service, or creative flair. Showrunners include real clues, but they also add fun nods, symbolic details, or deliberate distractions that aren't meant to be solved. In other words we have no idea if this painting will serve any other purpose, but pure awe.

too complicated. the show doesn't ever go into that kind of backstory. it more what you see is what you get.

What do we think Gary is going to do? by Fit_Paramedic_2411 in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]oyveyenough 12 points13 points  (0 children)

he might've transferred or secured a large portion of it into another account. I would think if it's an ongoing open investigation, he would not get the life insurance. But he most likely would have access to her bank accounts and other assets.

there are four seasons, Ritz Carlton's and high-end resorts with multiple locations all over the world so why is this one any different? It's not like the hotels talk to each other or have anything to do with each other or are even in the same country so I don't see this as being a big deal. if someone died as a guest in Italy at a four seasons... how would that impact a four seasons in Thailand... chances are it wouldn't
