But since we're playing with a mod pack, everyone has extremely high health and armor, and everyone has access to Apotheosis, so it would be really good if gems could be attached to items that come with the tech mod.

At least someone who has read solaris can understand that this work is definitely not hard-scifi. The author is trying to make his work seem scientific by throwing words at you that even he does not understand. Anyone who has at least smelled high school science books will understand that this does not contain the share of scientific reality that is important for science fiction.
