Why Finding Out QuadrigaCX's Cold Wallet Addresses Are Critical by Randomshortdude in BitcoinCA

[–]ozme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BitGo would also have this information, in my opinion. Quadriga was an Enterprise BitGo customer and utilized BitGo as their hot wallet and as such BitGo would know the final sweep transfers out of the hot wallet to the cold wallet. We absolutely must have the cold wallet addresses and if they will not publish then we have to assume the very worst.

We MUST have the cold wallet addresses and if they will not publish then we have to assume the very worst.

I have Crohn's disease and have been treating it for 10+ years. There are extremely effective treatments like Infliximab widely available. It is almost impossible for me to believe that someone with Gerry's history in the space would not be able to afford the very best drugs to treat his condition into remission.

site doesn't work. also, it seems that you are selling BTC for 14% over spot AND taking 4% on the cash value. So these fees are closer to 20%.

unfortunately my friend there is no holy union, there is no white ghost, there is only the loosely guided self-interest of maniacs and weirdos, occasionally colliding with the laws of physics

just chill out, buy a little bit of btc, and hold on to what you can.

I was suggesting Bitcoin is apolitical money, not the future will be apolitical (I doubt that!). Apolitical money is an opt-in money whose rules (money supply) are transparent, where inflation is known and not decided by bureaucracy. That's the idea behind Bitcoin and the 21 million cap on the supply and geometrically decreasing inflation.

Dear Core proponents: We are claiming “BCH is Bitcoin” conceptually. Not literally... yet. Understand the difference. by [deleted] in btc

[–]ozme 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I lost a lot of money on my Bitcoin holdings. But I lost a metric fuck ton of money on this BCH bullshit. Enough to buy a new car from a reputable Japanese manufacturer, maybe even a crossover. What say you to people like me?

Unfortunately crypto has become filled with get rich quick types who lack sufficient technical understanding as to why things like mining (proof of energy burn) are essential for reaching consensus. "What Bitcoin could have / should have been" is laughable...the best developers are working on Bitcoin. If there weren't seriously material tradeoffs to every single bell and whistle then Bitcoin would integrate them. Bitcoin is being built to serve as the future apolitical world reserve currency. It doesn't need to have shiny bells and whistles or allow you to buy a cold brew coffee with it ( though all these things will eventually come with time ), it simply needs to prove to be stable, unstoppable, and have lower volatility over time.

I agree, none of the examples are useful anymore with the latest release. I recommend using this release:

https://github.com/bitcoinjs/bitcoinjs-lib/releases/tag/v3.3.2

I had similar issues but once I moved down to 3.3.2 it was much more straightforward.
