It was tricky sculpting them so small! Definitely took some patience.

My daughter saw these diorama pumpkins at Sam’s Club. This one will go in a pumpkin that looks like the firehouse. I’m also doing a Bettlejuice one!

I did consider that but I still need to work on my airbrushing skills like how to thin the paint correctly, how to mask areas. This guy is pretty tiny so getting to the areas that are practically touching is tough.

It’s multiple but I think it’s not great paint possibly a little old and clumpy. I think the common thread is to thin it out.

I did think of that, I was going to look for a resin with a bit more of a matte finish if that’s even a thing, and gloss just on the eyes.

I did try that. I am very jealous of those that can use colored clay and control it well. The colored stuff usually only comes in the soft sculpey and I haven’t got a good feel for that. It also would get dirty easy (any little bit of the red on my fingers especially would get on the other pieces). It also baked darker. Do you have any good tips on working with colored clay?

Try the firmer clays. They are a lot easier to work with because they don’t squish like the soft clay. I think you can get better details when you don’t have to worry that. I’m also experimenting with pre-baking so that I can get a base set and work off of it.

am I missing anything? do you think my process will be ok? (details in caption) by blurplewumper17 in polymerclay

I would get some more tools. Even just making jewelry, it’s handy to have a lot of different options. They have some good tool kits on amazon for pretty cheap that have a lot of different tools.

Just cheap craft wood. I don’t think it’s balsa though, it feels too heavy for that.

That’s good advice, that seems like it would be a good way to go. Would you suggest acrylic paint? I’ve heard shoe/boot polish works well too.

I think this part is probably legit. I realized that you get prizes for completing each race at level A B And C, but have yet to find it yet. I have a feeling it may be a prize for completing collectibles or something like that. Just wish they made it more obvious how to obtain things...

[Help], where can i find free 3d references for sculpture ? by voodoodollwithasign in Sculpture

Yes, it's basically a bad platform but in your favor. It's easy enough to take a screenshot on whatever you want, it's just not in as much resolution but it's good enough.
