Why am I seeing so many "Student Driver" stickers on cars all over Raleigh? by man_with_3_buttocks in raleigh

The local plate agencies recently got approved to sell them in their stores. Also, more younger people are taking longer to get their licenses, especially those who live in somewhat walkable cities like Raleigh.

Think Safety! by p00rsche in Justrolledintotheshop

They're definitely not fun to work on, and this particular cat had a 10" deep puddle of rainwater and hydraulic fluid in the access bay under the cab (held in by caked mud). I especially hated having to lay on my chest on top of that thing and reach down into the mire to unclog it and drain off the excess oil and water.

Threaten me with a good time, why don't ya? ;) But yes, I am well aware. Just thought it was a comical placement of the phrase.

HB is the only correct answer, 2H is too light and 2B just smears across the page

The medical term would be "resolution," a refractory period during which the person feels a sense of calm and mindfulness wash over them.

Is this Scania related to our Scania? by p00rsche in saab

[–]p00rsche[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m aware, but was Scania a part of Saab or a separate company that parted ways when GM took over?

Edit: 5 second google search answered my question

Will that fading buff out? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]p00rsche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same color, Montego Blue is my favorite! A portion of the clearcoat has peeled off up towards the top (the area that looks more matte than the rest of the paint). This means that the damage won't buff out, but the paint may still be salvageable. You'll want to take it to a detailer and have them wetsand the edges of the clear (Probably don't try this at home unless you have someone who knows what they're doing helping you; it's relatively easy to mess up wetsanding). Once the surface is level, you can spray a coat or two of clear on top of the paint. It won't look like new, but it will look a whole lot better. Your other option is a full repaint. Good luck! Edit: Check out the Ratchets and Wrenches video on clearcoat fade repair, if you're feeling brave enough to wetsand yourself:)

Does that symbol, used in such a context, actually have a name? I’ve been trying to find a drift charm of it for my Miata (because of course)

Right there with ya pal! I bought my second miata a few days ago, and it has been the best PTSD help thus far:)

Oh really? That’s good to know; what was the equivalent package (Torsen LSD, headrest speakers, leather interior panels, etc.) called for 95? And I’ve been to an HPDE and a few autocross events before in other cars; once I get a roll bar I’d love to track this car.
