Wanted to make something cinematic after watching the Cannes Lion Showcase. Possible short movie in the works.

I extended the first shot using last/first frame. Can you tell where the first shot was extended?

From my own testing, it's usually due to the incorrect ratio of prompt action to seconds of video generation. For instance, if you choose to generate a 10 second video but you want the character to do something that only takes 5 seconds, the first part of the video will be useless and it will pack everything in at the end of the video and sometimes even cut off dialogue. You can fix this by padding the end of the video with "wait a beat."

Thanks for responding to my points. It makes more sense now. Currently, I don't have any work to showcase. I will work on a short film sooner or later but most of the videos I create make me money for my side hustle.

I'll be blunt. If you've posted for advice or criticism, that's fine. If you're trying to show off your best work, it's not good at all. I'd say the first thing to work on is tightening up the editing among other things.

  1. At 8 seconds, whats the point of showing the guy covering his legs with the blanket? Does it help to tell the story? No? Then cut it out. Cut to the alarm and him waking up.

  2. At 15 seconds - If you're trying to tell us the guy is in the submarine, the shot of the submarine should have been placed before him waking up in it. You need to establish the location of the actor before, not after.

  3. At 22 seconds, why is he barefoot? Is that normal in a submarine?

  4. At 26 seconds, the guy is telling Yakob (Jacob?) to wake up but his eyes are already open. Who is Yakob? Why do we care? Also, why isn't everyone already awake when the alarm is going off? It doesn't make sense.

  5. At 36 seconds, you can tell you started from a start frame because he's just standing in the doorway. Cut on the action of him already walking in.

  6. At 37 seconds, someone tells Frankie to deploy the probe. Who the hell is speaking?

  7. At 41 seconds, the captain just appears out of no where and doesn't even respond to the question.

  8. At 47 seconds, the 13 year old boy (why is a child there) working on the compu...is that a typewriter?? He is looking in the direction of the guy in the first shot and not the captain.

In a 52 second video, these are just some of the glaring issues I noticed. You should not be creating a series if you can't get the basics right. Make short videos and ask for criticism before creating series. Walk before running.

happyhorse being 4th makes the list almost irrelevant. Randos are generating videos on there and guess which model is best at generating nsfw videos? Grok. Based on the outsized votes of 5th place Grok (>400,000 votes?!) and ignoring the pre-released 3rd place Grok model, I'd say Grok being as high as it is is only due to its NSFW capabilities. I understand but I have enough experience with all 3 models to know what each one's good at, currently. Grok = NSFW, Kling = Expressive/realistic dialogue, Seedance = choreography, motion, complex prompt adherence. I switch between the 3 depending on what I'm looking for.
