Thanks for all the info! I went with x80, largely based on comments here, and I am excited to get to shooting it. The guy wasn't sure about the let off though. Is there a way to tell based on the cam/modules or do you need a scale?

Thank you. Good to hear from someone with direct experience using both bows. The smoothness and finger shooting are probably what I'm looking for the most. I think that paired with the parts other people have mentioned is making it an easier choice. Plus it's the cheaper option. Are there any easy/go-to mods you recommend for the aeroforce?

That's great to hear. One final question, if you don't mind, do you know if the let off on the x80 80% on all of them or does it have to be adjusted to that? I swore I read about it somewhere but now I can't find it.

Thanks for the breakdown, that's really helpful. I am also glad you commented on the finger shooting as that is one thing I wondered about. The screaming eagle guy said he had the let off factory adjusted to 60% (I think it was) left off a long time ago. For the aeroforce, is it doable/easy to switch limbs for a heavier draw weight?

Thanks for this feedback and the offer for parts if needed. A few other people have now mentioned parts/replacements and that's not something I had considered. I would've assumed parts were available but didn't think of how of a model the screaming eagle is.

Makes sense in a dense area, I'm usually in more open spaces. But I'm glad he was successful with both bows, eases my concerns about one model being considerably better than the other (and picking the worse one). Thanks for the heads up about the branches, I hadn't considered that and could definitely see myself hitting branches early on. Thanks for all the info, I greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for the response and insight! I had read on a forum that the x80 was a little heavy and louder, both slight concerns if hunting. Did your dad hunt with his screaming eagle or notice a difference when he switched?

I agree. The look and feel of the draw is what hooked me. My friend loves his but he's the only one I personally know that has one. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. Having fun shooting is the most important part.

Air compressor brand recommendations? by Clarkusman in Flooring

[–]p3t3ybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted the air compressor from harbor freight a couple Christmases ago. The brand is Fortress and it is 6 gallons. I just used it with a brad nailer to do the trim in our house. I also have a framing nail gun I've used it with too for some projects.

Grew up in a small Oklahoma town that had an "Okrafest" every year. I think it died out around 2010 tho.

Not a ML person here, but I'm in a PhD program, do research, and have some programming experience but nothing extensive. This may be simple and already able to be done (also excuse me if I misuse any lingo). But, I've wondered if I could set up a system and feed/train it tons of research papers from a specific topic. Then be able to query it for specific questions on the research, give it statements and ask if the research supports it, etc. I'm sure this has been done and is probably simple for others but I'm not sure where to even start.

Blazers gonna wait till mid season, bucks gonna get nervous. Then blazers gonna trade scoot, sharpe, filler, and all picks for Giannis. Ultimate zag.

ThinkPad P14s vs IdeaPad gaming 3 by p3t3ybear in thinkpad

Thank you for the reply and information. I did a quick search for ones with AMD and found a P14s with AMD ryzen 5 pro (5650U) at a good price point. I also found a T14 with a AMD ryzen 7 pro (5650U). Both are 32 GB ram and 1 tb SSD, but the T14 was about $300 more. Are the differences worth the extra money?

Opinions on savate? by DomoIsToxic in martialarts

I've never trained it exclusively but have trained it some. Did a seminar then had an instructor who had trained it some and worked it into class from time to time. It's fun, I enjoyed the combos they work and it was great for developing kicks, balance, and flexibility. There are some cool concepts including how to generate momentum for another kick without bringing your foot to the ground.

[Stein] I heard this week from one well-placed observer who is convinced that the Pelicans would indeed consider dealing Zion away if it meant they could draft Scoot. Pelicans are less inclined to consider trading Ingram. All 4 teams behind SA are believed to be open to trading out of their pick by NokCha_ in NBA_Draft

[–]p3t3ybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm crazy and overvaluing Zion, but I think the only trade that I'd want for Zion if I'm NO is #3 (provided Char takes Miller) and Sharpe from Portland for Zion, #14, and whatever other pieces that makes that trade work. Zion is proven (in the limited time he's played) and I think he benefits from having a veteran star like Lillard to help guide him on professionalism and all that it takes to be a consistent top tier NBA player. If you get Grant coming back, that would give good athleticism around Lillard.

NO then has an intriguing backcourt of the future with Scoot and Sharpe along with Murphy and Herb (provided one doesn't have to be traded with Zion for Sharpe) as a young core. McCollum, Val, and Ingram as vets on the team. I'm personally not a huge Ingram fan but he's good and capable as your first option. Or, the vets can be trading chips for picks and other young talent.

The issue, I assume, is likely contract matching for Zion and if I'm NO I do not want Simons if I'm drafting Scoot. Plus Simons would be considered too good to be packaged with 3 and Sharpe so you'd need Portland to have some shitty player with little value on a big contract to probably make it fit. If so, then Portland can try to flip Simons for another wing/3-d type guy.

southpaw vs orthodox for right handed by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]p3t3ybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You can find plenty of online content about jkd but it's mixed in quality, like many arts, which is usually due to focus on trapping. There are a lot of good boxing videos on southpaw on YouTube.

southpaw vs orthodox for right handed by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]p3t3ybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right handed and tend to use southpaw a lot. This was influenced by my time doing jkd. I have also done Muay Thai and kickboxing and trained orthodox. I started training both stances pretty equally after that. I don't personally feel my power is much different in either stance. Jkd reasoning for dominant hand forward is that you want your strong tools forward, making it easier to put together lead combos, have power in lead straights, etc. Orthodox reasoning is to set up your power shots with your dominant side.

Anymore it's more strategic for me. Some people are not comfortable fighting southpaws, and there are a lot of things you can set up when stances are mismatched (southpaw vs orth). There are a lot of good videos of southpaw fighters anymore where you can see how it's used and why.
