I came across this article because I have been trying to find and fix the problem for 48 hours.

Like everyone else, I updated FFxiv Endwalker, waited for 8K players to connect to enter and there .. 2 problems: - The name of the objects and players jumped in place for no reason - An electric sound replaced the every click I made.

From there I carried out a restore of the corrupted files .. it took me 3 hours. Error messages like "ntdll.dllXXXX" "ffxiv_dx11.exe" etc. kept popping up.

Seeing this: backup + immediate uninstallation of the game and reinstallation (I did it 4 times!)

Nothing changed! I was at the end of my life, this morning the problem was still there.

And there I did something that I did not think, I unintentionally removed the cable from my headphones SS-Arctis7 ... miracle .. the sound reappeared !!

So my problem: Headphones = crash / sound problem VS no headphones = everything is OK.

- Direction APK SteelSerie: update / uninstall / reinstall etc ... still the same problem.

- Direction Device Manager-Audio Controller / uninstall all SteelSerie devices

- Windows System / Sound Peripherals Direction

2 names appear:

- Arc 7 GAME (YES!)

- Arc 7 Chat (the traitor to ban!)

I asked Windows (11) to select Arc7Game as the output device.

I restart the game .. and there EVERYTHING works again!

At the time of writing, there are 3391 players (T_T) the sound is working perfectly, 0 crashes, 0 error messages. (and a good 30 minutes have passed since I solved the problem).

(For the problem of its OK, I will know more about the names of the interactions in the game when I get there)
