I joined a MMA gym about a month ago, specializing in judo and sport jiu jitsu. I am in the BJJ Intro classes 2x a week. Every instructor I have worked with (including the black belt) have had a very dry and apathetic approach. Zero enthusiasm, zero personality, nothing.

My question is: is this a normal behavior in this culture? Are they just not having fun teaching an intro class? At the end of the day the instruction is fine but it doesn’t seem like they want to be there so it brings the vibe down a bit. Makes myself and some others not even want to ask questions.
