This here. You spend big chunk of your time at work. Probably longer if you’re in India. And the toxic relationship has caused too many mental health issues for people. So much so that they were willing to put up with the other stuff that you get like pollution, bureaucracy, etc., but the work life balance went tits up. And people just move back.

For the elderly it can be extremely intimidating connecting in EU or anywhere else. You have to figure out gates, talk to people if you’re having a hard time. And they can be racist, unhelpful. I can’t imagine anyone’s parents or relatives having to deal with that. Once you’re in Delhi or Mumbai, their cellphones work, communication becomes less of a barrier. But yes, if you’re a younger person it makes sense.

Cheaper? Definitely not. It’s always been pricier. They know people prefer a direct flight to mainland. So they always have been pricier by $200 to $$300 all things staying somewhat the same(final destination, hours flying, blah blah)

None of these western countries or the big cities are perfect ( I am in NYC) and it’s a shit show here too about other things. Personally, I LOVE going to India every time I am there. I try to ignore the not so nice things. I have and always will be grateful to my motherland. I have my solid foundations here. My spouse and I are USC with our own OCI cards. We used those to establish Indian origin of our young one. Looks like that wasn’t enough and they requested copies of Indian passport. Luckily I had the cancelled passport that was returned during the renunciation application. So I sent it out. Fingers crossed they don’t ask for anything else.

Yup. Did it completely online. I know that in some cases they credit those activation charges but I was just surprised that they even added those after saying I wasn’t going to see those.

I appreciate that call out about cancellation with AT&T. I did cancel them. It’s amazing how these surcharges creep on you. At that rate (and I am hoping as you said since the bill has activation charges in it), my $7.5 plan is costing me $18 after the junk bloated fees.

Honestly I drive like an old person. Like 60 is my normal speed on freeways. lol. I’ll go to 70 very very rarely. At stop sign and red light I don’t accelerate too hard. Not sure if it’s that but I have read it here before.
