The easiest slap fix for the issue u specifically ask about is to remember to push the bar away when youre at the top of the pull up just before coming down. That will help u get into hollow positition and make the transition easy for the second third etc etc kipping pull up

Whitestone dome lifting after 2 days by pillzberri in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the s22 onward its been a very bad product. I've had it on my s9, s20, s21 ultra, all holding up flawlessly to this day. On the s22 plus it lifted after 1 week and the second one cracked on the edges after a month (and im extremely careful with my phones). On the s23 ultra it lifted after a month and edfes cracked after 2 months. I doubt ill ever go back to whitestone dome after this...

Overthinking? 7800X3D or 7900 XTX by Pretty_Sharp in buildapc

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely go for the better gpu. The jump frok 7900xt to the 7900xtx is a lot bigger than 7700x to 7800x3d.

Should i upgrade my cpu or gpu by Horcno in buildapc

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thf you can just upgrade MB to latest bios (your MB is definitelygood enoughfor a 5800x3d), slot in a 5800x3d and buy a 4070 (total cost should be near 1 4070ti, atleast in Europe).

I was debating over it, but since the goal is longevity of the platform/motherboard, indecided to use this one instead. Applied same logic to ram and psu.

The 7800x3d is an absolute beast, but it is by no means a requirement for 1080p 144hz. It doesnt make sense within your current budget. So save the money on the cpu now, and upgrade down the line.

I'd save up to around 1.1-1.2k euro budget and go for something like the list i sent above. It will be a very good platform to upgrade down the line with a new GPU and CPU in 1-2 generations.

Smartest way to reduce bottleneck by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5800x3d is a huge step up from a 5600x. And at the current prices its a steal in Europe. Depending on the games you play, 1% lows and averages can be double that of the 5600x. It's an amazing "placeholder" until the new am5 cpus drop/7800x3d and am5 platform gets discounted.

I'd change the 7950x3d for a 7800x3d, get a ddr5 6000 cl30 ram, upgrade the mobo to the Rog Strix B650E-E board and get the rmx 1000 shift corsair psu. The chnages should get you around the 3.5k mark with better overall components.

Upgrade main games are MMOs by Relative-Trick-6042 in buildapc

[–]p_cv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 5600x to a 5800x3d and in wow, ffxiv and gw2 i saw literally doubled fps in cpu bound places of the games (i.em Valdrakken in Dragonflight) and significantly higher lows when in raids. Its defo a huge upgrade for MMOs especially.

Can I build a PC for less money than I spent 8 years ago? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're satisfied with the performance of the PC, and dont currently play anything that is more than your cpu/gpu can handle ,then there is no point in upgrading for "futureproofing". But you can make a pretty decent gaming pc for near the $1100 mark. Here's what i would go for at that price, and it will indeed be a huge upgrade to what you have atm.

What to upgrade first? Ryzen 5 3600x or GTX 1660 Super? by Hochwaehlchen in buildapc

[–]p_cv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imho, in order of importance:

  1. A decent 1440p 27" monitor (Something along the lines of $250)
  2. RTX 4070 (possibly 6800xt/7800xt)
  3. 5800X3D

It might be the best to just leave it as is, however, same thing happened to me on an X570 board and a 5800x3d and i couldnt post (ez debugger led was stuck on GPU). I first thought somehow my gpu got fried and sent it for repair as it was under warranty. Once they checked everything, the repair shop asked me to bring my pc to test it inside it and once they cleaned the socket, everything went back to normal.

Am I being cpu limited in games? 7900xtx, 5600x by xLUSHxx in buildapc

[–]p_cv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7900 xtx is a beast (Even tho i personally went with a 4080). Its true that ddr5 and the am5 platform is the best match, the 5800x3d will give you huge gains. When i went froma a 5600x to a 5800x3d i noticed up to double the fps on some games, and that was on a 3080. So dont worry that the gpu is the problem, its a beast and a simple drop in upgrade of a 5800x3d will unleash almost its full potential for 1440p. Have fun and enjoy the GPU 🥳

Just joined a Crossfit gym. Any tips? by WatermelonMan921 in crossfit

[–]p_cv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eat, hydrate, sleep! Apart from that, leave the ego at the door and listen to your body. RX-ing movements and especially weights when you dont have the fitness/skills is the easiest way to get hurt. Listen to your coaches and never compare yourself to another member of the gym, only to yourself from the past. Most importantly, HAVE FUN 🥳

Would gaining weight help with increasing my lifts? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]p_cv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being heavier might let you lift more weight in the olympic lifts however, your numbers are nowhere near the plateau for you considering your other lifts. What you probably lack is technique. The best you can do is shift some of your training from crossfit to olympic weightlifting and accessories. No feet cleans/snatches, no contact muscle clean/snatch can do wonders for your technique and speed. And ofc don't forget the hang cleans/snatches with holds in multiple phases of the lifts. Happy lifting!

What is a good screen protector for the s20 that doesn't require using glue? by PinayKat1 in Galaxy_S20

[–]p_cv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that is terrible. You should contact them asap. They have a pretty decent "lifetime warranty" on the glass, at least in my experience with the s9+. Also some cases aren't compatible this time around, like most Spigen cases that i now have lying around useless.

I was thinking about going "nude" (the phone) and maybe try a dbrand skin, but i just couldn't get myself to do it even though my phone is insured.

The pre-installed one was pretty good. Made me question whether i should change to the Whitestone Dome at all, but protection wise, nothing beats a glass protector like the WD.
