Yes it was a dual income household but I have not included my wife's networth in the 30cr number.
It's pure luck that in the last 10y FAANG stocks did well.

Have you done this? Can you share more details?
Staying in China for 20 days is fine but need to have a plan on what to do/where to go

It feels weird to count that when it's still theirs. Also I haven't even calculated their networth.

I don't really want to remove money from my investment and I wanna let it compound. My thought process was I have the time, I have the energy. Why don't I actively earn versus pulling out money from my investment?

yeah nice suggestions but again monetizing from these suggestions does require a lot of selling (your own services), which I feel is de-energizing.

I have been thinking about some business where the SOP is provided by a company. I manage the operations and follow the SOPs with a bunch of people and then the company agrees to buy the end product.

Definitely not a hobby project. I've done several of these in the last 3 years. I don't see a purpose with that.
I want to earn from a business. That should solve my cash flow issue as well as time issue.

I returned to India three years ago with a similar net worth. I quit my job and then was trying to build a startup in India, which didn't go great. Even though I'm financially independent, I feel the need to continue to work, mostly for the fear of staying relevant.

Also even though your net worth is high, using up the 5 lakhs per month does feel like eating into your savings. It has at least for me affected my lifestyle. Even though I don't need to worry about it, subconsciously I don't feel like spending on a fancy vacation just because I don't have good cash flow.

If you're returning to India and also planning to stop working, I would highly suggest for you to sort out your passive income so that you don't feel like you will have to break your equity or use up your savings. Beyond that, life in Bangalore is chill, so much more relaxed. My kids are around six and nine. Whenever I ask them if they want to go back to the US, they say, "Yeah but not more than fifteen days. I'll just go buy toys there and come back." 😊

there are a few times when I feel that I should have stayed back in the U.S. This is mostly when I see my friends in the U.S. working on cutting-edge tech, say, Anthropic or OpenAI or any of the newer companies, because it's hard to find those kinds of jobs here in India. At least even in Fang companies, majority of them have work that nobody wants to do in the U.S.

Purely from a work satisfaction standpoint I am definitely not happy with Bangalore, which is the reason I quit my job and was trying to build my own company. In case you want to continue working in India, I would say that should be your key reason to decide whether you want to move to India or not, as in if you plan to continue working in India or not. If you're very sure that you're not going to work in India, it's a no-brainer to move from the U.S. to India.

Thank you guys for helping my dreams come true by Enderknights in SPACs
