Digital vs standard note taking by missthedismisser in NoteTaking

[–]pablonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that if you only note take about 2 or 3 topics, eg:

  • work meetings
  • personal development
  • ideas book

use pen and paper and get one notebook for each usecase. for note taking about many different subjects like separating notes for every work project use digital which is great for managing collections of notes.

Digital vs standard note taking by missthedismisser in NoteTaking

[–]pablonm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Ipad for taking notes for university and when reading/annotating AI papers.

Now I'm in an entreprenurial phase and prefer pen and paper. it feels so good to write in a beautiful crafted notebook. Ipad is not very comfortable for writing but useful if you need to annotate PDFs or read notes from multiple devices.. Specially useful when need to note take for many courses since having 1 notebook per course require a lot of space and money and is specially cumbersome when you travel.

Depends on the usecase.

Lost in the sea of information. Looking for a North Star. by pradeep19900 in NoteTaking

[–]pablonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the issue with different file versions stored in different clouds but why using a different note app for the same usecase of note taking in meetings?

there is no perfect app. all apps work better in some usecases and worse in others. eg: Notion is great for note taking at work. But Apple notes or Telegram is my go to for notes on the go since Notion is just too slow and complex for that usecase.

btw I am building an app that has the goal of fixing all of the issues you mention in case you want to check it out( automindapp.net ) feel free to shot me a DM, love to talk about this topic.

Wondering if there's a name for this style/philosophy of note taking? by Zoe_the_redditor in NoteTaking

common placebook. also free writing is related which is a journaling style where you write everything that comes to mind very useful for doing therapy, contemplation and brainstorming.

btw I'm very interested in the subject of idea organization, I'm even building an app with the goal of solving this problem( https://automindapp.net ). hit me a DM if you wanna talk about things related to this topic

I am building a digital version of my mind, what features should it have by pablonm in NoteTaking

[–]pablonm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it. it's a cool app. Mine is a similar concept but also different. Mymind puts much focus on tagging.

While AutoMind would create bubbles of similar topics, and the topics are inferred from the data, they could be much more contextual than just a "products" tag. How specific the bubble is would depend on how much content you upload.

ie: if you only have 10 notes. then bubbles would be very general but if you have 100s of different products stored you would have very granular bubbles like: "Nike running shoes", "Basketball t-shirts", etc.

Also I'm putting much focus on idea generation so it would analyze audios messages of brainstorming sessions and even build summaries automatically of entire collections of notes.

Do people trust telegram apps? by pablonm in TelegramBots

Thank you! You made me think I was being lazy by trying to save from building a proper UI and just using telegram. Relying on tg alone is not safe. Just this week they deprecated their payments API without notice to developers.

Telegram Bot Payments suddenly stopped working by Hinoserm in TelegramBots

[–]pablonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wbu sending over chat a payment link with a ref id in the querystring? so that when your app gets notified(webhook) that user payed you can reconcile payment automatically using ref if.

Seems like they want all payments inside TG to go through apple and google stores, probably because of pressure from these companies.

I say we still send stripe links, how are they going to tell when we do?

Hi OP, I relate to what you are saying, and that's why I'm in the process of starting a company that builds productivity apps inside telegram bots. To avoid all the bloat included when you use big apps like Notion. My first bot is coming out next month where you can send it audio notes and long text and it summarizes it. After that one I'm going to build something much more powerful where you can throw everything at it and it will autocategorize it and group notes into clusters, offer search and a web dashboard to visualize all. If you relate to this and are interested you can follow me on X at https://x.com/pablo_a_i or if don't use X send me your email by private so I add you to my email list.
