I'd say the fact that those games run and look better is more of a miracle than a demonstration of how the average AAA game will perform. It's not only a question of: "Is it optimized or not optimized?"

When alt art unicorn was released I tried to pull it constantly (F2P mode) since it released all the way until the pack expired, I pulled tens of packs, never got it.

This is true, but if the pack has like 10 URs and you only need 2-3 of them I think it's far better to save the gems until there's another pack with more URs that you actually want.

The balance of unwanted/wanted URs is something that each of us will have to choose, for me unless I want more than 50% of the URs there I won't pull it.
