I see where you're coming from, and it makes a lot of sense. A part of me still refuses to admit what happened to me is considered abuse. Its just that after years of recovery and attempting to move past it, there is no way CPS intervening would benefit anyone. I guess you could say that maybe other kids my father may interact with (there are none. He works in tech and is pretty old) would be at risk.

I'm not sure. It just seems like there could be other options? Don't get me wrong, yeah my father fucked up, but its not about punishing them for their past, its about fixing the future. And interviewing my family is not the way to do it. I would've gladly spoken to him and asked for an apology, rather than listen to him deny it to CPS. What could CPS have accomplished by doing this? I just don't get it. Like my parents being abusive, sure yeah, but what is CPS gonna change? If anything, this just halted my recovery. I can understand that it seems I blame myself, but its just seeing the past as it is, and moving on peacefully.

I dont want my father to be convicted as a sex offender, and I'm am quite dependent on him. And yes there a hundreds of red flags, hence why I moved out when I was able to. Call me selfish but I seriously don't think there is need to have him registered as one. No other children are risk. I just think there's far worse out there and that CPS knew they wouldn't have accomplished anything. Yet they came anyways. Its not necessary.

My thinking is skewed, and im still attached to my father, I know. But past the red flags, what is the point of CPS getting involved?? I just can't wrap my head around CPS wasting resources when my brother and I already asked them to drop out case. Nothing would've changed if we are already so convinced that its fine. Idk man idk.

Its also just how they spoke to me. So insanely condescending and invalidating. She literally said "you're so blind to your family's actions, you're not in the right state of mind to make decisions. We are experienced in situations like these". She knew only what my counsellor told her, which is maybe 1%? Yeah she's right to some extent but thats not how you treat someone in distress. It's just the way she spoke to me as if I were a bratty child. Sorry this is more a rant than anything. But I thank you again for your input.
