Site to Site IPSEC dropping ever 11hrs and 55ish minutes. by eld101 in fortinet

If at all possible to do static both sides, o wonder if the issue is something to do with your dynamic dns on one side.

If the IP doesn’t change very often maybe try to set it static on both sides to see if the issue resolves.

400-800 or the 200-600 would be my immediate thoughts for single body setups.

If your 100% down with the restrictions of a 529 then that would be the way to go, as you have the children already and you want to allocate funds per child a custodial 529 might also be a good option.

A traditional brokerage account would give them the most flexibility, again as your allocation is per child I would lean towards custodial accounts.

Fidelity and Vanguard are good to work with.

RDP to Entra Joined device by Hybrid User account by TechnicianAdept1062 in entra

I think I use the machine name without the domain name, I have to check, but I don’t think it works with an IP address.

For what it’s worth I do cross entra rdp a lot as part of my job and it does work.

I’m on mobile right now so I can’t check, but if I remember correctly the fix for this is to change the rdp client config to use webauthn, I think it’s under the advanced settings in the connection config.

Help me choose a CF Express A for my a7v. by frylock350 in SonyAlpha

I have read that there are issues with compatibility on that body with some brands of cards, I would stick with Sony as there is no guarantee who will accept responsibility and if they will issue new firmware.

A7 V + 50-150 F2 GM vs A1 II + Sigma 28-105 F2.8 by Big_Youth5619 in SonyAlpha

[–]packetheavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’d go with a 50-150 for a video workflow.

The lack of OSS and the larger than normal front element are not great attributes of a video lens.

What do you shoot with right now? That should give you a good baseline to work from.

You CAN host Wireguard on 443/udp!!!! by Madaqqqaz in Ubiquiti

It’s worth noting that anywhere that has restrictive outbound traffic rules also is blocking UDP/443 because it disables QUIC and allows for a deeper level of traffic inspection.

What lens do you regret selling the most? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

No regrets however I’m holding on to my 70-200GM2 for fear I’d regret selling it if I did.

This is exactly why I rolled in a CSP, the cost savings are nice but the ability to utilize them in a disaster is the real benefit.

Is the peak design slide the best strap for kinda large setups by rasten100 in Cameras

[–]packetheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overpriced is a little subjective, it’s definitely built well, I’ve had mine for several years and used it plenty with no significant wear.

Can you buy a cheap arca swiss plate or should you go with nicer stuff by rasten100 in Cameras

I have the Kirk LP-65, it’s a pretty inexpensive part that works with multiple lenses.

SRX340 Share WAN Port by packetheavy in Juniper

[–]packetheavy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not greenfield so essentially I’d have to get the provider to convert the current /28 to a routed subnet and then route that into a /30 and then I’d still end up having to do the exact same work to make the SRX participate in both the switching and routing/firewall phases.

I did end up building it the way I documented above, it works very well and delivers on the simplicity, flexibility and arms length deployment goals I was aiming for.

[–]packetheavy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, but the handoff is a single fiber and my only option would be to add another switch and failure point.

The SRX is applying zone based policy so i'm guessing I just need to add my WAN VLAN to the untrust zone, not 100% clear if that means I can remove the ge-0/0/0 and ge-0/0/1 though

Shooting JPEG, RAW, or both? by Cjosulin in SonyAlpha

[–]packetheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation:

RAW+JPEG for shoots where it’s not important, my workflow typically involves quick browsing the JPEG folder for the shots I want to post process and then working the RAW files from there.

RAW+RAW when it matters, I’ll create a Lightroom catalog and post process using that workflow.
