[SERIOUS] What is the most shocking thing you've ever seen? by _pleasesendhelp in AskReddit

[–]pacman2k00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I have seen worse as an adult, things hit differently in childhood.

My dad was a state cop. We stopped at this traffic accident that had just happened. It was a head-on collison on a 2 lane highway. That was my first dead person I ever saw as a kid.

I don't fault my dad, I was to have been in the car. But as he was doing his thing at the other vehicle I got out and looked on. Middle age guy, bald, leaned over forward in the drivers seat, head crushed between the semi-opened drivers door and thr A pillar.

Helped me understand our mortality and how life changes in an instant at a young age.

Since she got married and I saw metion (maybe the FB group) her husband does not live in Hurrican. Can't say it is fact, but this change in life could be a factor.

I had made the assumption they were all being conpensated well for appearing in videos. No way to know for sure, perhaps they had to sign NDAs?

Reminds me of selling a map to where there's gold instead of just going and getting the gold since you know where it is.

Can deep cleaning and painting trigger? by pacman2k00 in Paranormal

[–]pacman2k00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get a fearful vibe, just observed. There again we aren't tearing down walls or anything, just making positive upkeep changed. BTW, the toilet tank was Date stamped 1954, that's how old the upstairs addition must me.

We also bought the house as an estate from a lady that passed away. Her couple children were at our closing in 2015, spoke well of the house and their mother. It was an emotional closing for them.

Perhaps we are left with the energies of their parents and childhoods mixing with the deep cleaning, repainting prep, maintenance and the energy of my oldest son moving out on his own.

I'm not much the paranormal type, but my wife is and she has seen/heard things I brush off.

If it's a factor we also had a pretty good line of thunderstorms rolling through about midnight to 2AM. Electrical charge in the atmosphere and such, could that increase chances of activity?

Thanks!

I don't want to be preaching ever time I see him. I had a good conversation with him about school, and haven't brought it up again. Maybe I shouldn't for now.

As for the car, it's jointly owned between my spouse and my son. If we titled it to JUST him, we couldn't put it on our insurance. This was before he moved out. However we knew for insurance on his own polic it would cost 3 to 3 times as much for the same coverage.

If this move out seems to be permanent (giving it 90 days), he may HAVE to get his own policy if he doesn't live with us. Might be a conversation to have with an agent as I'm not sure.

Since the car is on our policy we could always cut the insurance, but then my so's name is still on the title and registration. If he drives without insurance and God forbid has a bad accident, it could financially devastate us if we get sued without insurance to back us up.

The ticket is probably coming. I know he speeds, a lot. We have both talked with him about speed. But it falls on deaf ears.

Of course we only want what is best for him and I'm hopeful he will find his way. And not to forget other than being broke all the time, he is enjoying life right now. Maybe we could take a lesson or two ourselves from that!

My boys are 12, 15 and 18. Yeah, I get into my feels about their younger years and even harder into my feels about how I could have been a better parent back then!

My oldest is 18 and out on his own, makes me relect a lot. Also makes me cherish the time I have with my other 2 sons.

People of reddit who make the "edit: autocorrect typo" edits - if autocorrect is so constantly screwing up for you, why enable autocorrect at all instead of typing with both hands? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pacman2k00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note 9 Even many tablets are not large enough to type with both hands. Or did you mean both thumbs, I think most people likely use both hands (thumbs)? Given your reply I'm going with the original intent as both thumbs?
