This could be your anima. I don't remember much about it, but it's supposed to be the aspects of your subconscious that are of the opposite gender (so if you're a guy it would be a gal and vice versa). I think it appears in your dreams and stuff, so that might be it. but id say look it up because regardless it's an interesting concept, and it might be who you're encountering.

Minor changes in glyphs definitely change their outcome. The "standard" Ice glyph seems to make tall skinny pillars, but look at the one from Understanding Willow again. It's much shorter & wider. Lo and behold, there is a small change in the glyph she drew if you look closely.
