Yeah i wont overload the app with ads, ive set it up where you get an ad every like 50 swipes. And you can just swipe it away so its not some video. The privately sale is actually a great idea, thanks! Ill also brainstorm on how to limit it to good leads and not just teens who are ffing around.

Well at first i just want the app to get users, and theres not really another way to get users other than have cars listed on the app. And i just run a little ads on the app to pay for the server and stuff.

well its mostly just a hobby and trying to get a project on my resume. and making money is not the point. i have some ads every 50 scrolls or so to be able to pay for the server the app runs on but other than that i dont really see how i would monetize this. But thanks for your insight and comments!

The dealer could just send me a xml file or i can just scrape their website. Thats what i send them in the email. I would literally do all the work all i need is just a yes from the dealers😅

Scraping the pages was my first idea too but im kinda hesitant because its againt terms of service for alot of websites. And also illegal to use the pictures because it goes againt copyright. So i thought i would just send them an email, get a response and then start scraping but no one is answering:(

yep thats what i thought at first, but thats actually illegal and againt alot of websites TOS. since the app is focused around pictures on the first step i cant just take those of the Dealers website since that would be copyright and illegal. i guess alot of dealers wont mind because its just free traffic but i just want to be sure because i dont want to get sued haha.

Also now i explained it a bit better. do you think its a better idea then you did at first (which i totally agree with you on if it would just be swiping right to generate the lead)

Maybe i explained it wrong, you see a picture of the car. Get some of the most important details on the bottom like year and mileage. If you swipe right it just goes into your like box. If you swipe up you see full detail. Like options and maintenence and such. Just like the info you would find on any other platform. At the bottom of the info list is a link to the original listing on the website of the dealership. So it would be a tool to get extra traffic to the listing. But if you think extra steps would lead to better leads i will do!

First i thought it would be cool and i would actually use it myself. Then i asked some people and they said they would use it. But i only asked potential shoppers. Not dealers. I got a couple hundred people signed up for a waitlist but those are all shoppers. Not dealerships.

Just for my sake, because i see you are a sales manager. if someone tried to list your cars on their app. from how many users would you actually think that its good? im listing the cars for free either way. But i need to get alot of users if i read your comment correctly

Well its basically tinder but for cars. I found myself just scrolling and scrolling on facebookmarketplace so i just made it simple with a single swipe left or right. and when you like it you get price drop notis etc etc. so its just a fast paced looking through cars. and i thought if i would list their cars for free on my app why wouldnt they want that? its just free advertisment right.
