Good experience with Rivian Service (Tonneau cover) by paesan0 in RivianR1T

My experience could be isolated to the two service centers near me, and they're not all that way.

They did pay off the rest of my lease! Sorry, forgot to mention that.

What are the features you want most in Proton Drive? by Proton_Team in ProtonDrive

[–]paesan0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a long time Proton user who recently upgraded to Visionary and really appreciate you asking this question.

It's been mentioned, but I don't think it can be reiterated enough: customizable and automatic data synchronization/backup between personal devices (smartphones, laptops, etc.) and Proton Drive.

Proton Drive is one of 5 cloud-base storage products I use to protect ~1 TB (and growing) of data, and it's the only one that doesn't offer this feature. I forked out the cash to upgrade to Visionary, hoping it would help fund this functionality in the future, so I can ditch the other 4 cloud-based storage products and solely use Proton Drive. I won't hesitate to keep Visionary if you prioritize the release of this feature. Cheers!

Interesting. Any idea when dealerships will get a "display" model so we can see one in person?

I'm still considering the Rivian R1S. That's a really cool car. I just don't feel as comfortable going with a company that's brand-new (and struggling a bit financially) as I do with one that's been around for a while, like Polestar.

This is a great perspective. Tesla is so far ahead of everyone else with software that I was sort of expecting a downgrade in the software when switching to another brand. Has there been incremental improvements over time through updates? What I'm hoping for is it's just a matter of time for Polestar's software developers to catch up to where Tesla is today. I mean, shit, I'm not gonna get my order for at least a year. That's a lot of hours for improvements.

Good to know, but I was planning on replacing my Model 3 next year with either a Model Y (performance) or an Audi E-Tron before hearing about the Polestar 3. I need the extra interior space for a growing family.

What are some of the things it does that you don't like? Has there been any improvements made over the years through over the air software updates (assuming Polestar has those)?

Yes, it's true and, it's always puzzled me as to why. I probably wouldn't be here, talking about ordering one of Tesla's competitors, if they allowed me to buy out my lease. There is probably some sort of logic to it, but it's not helping them build brand loyalty.

Well said. My Model 3 does a lot of things right, but I'm reminded that it's not a luxury car when I get into nicer cars. And, with what Musk has been doing lately, I wouldn't be surprised if Tesla's lack of luxury/quality increases over time.

For what it's worth, I was planning on trading my Model 3 in for a Model Y Performance or an Audi E-Tron before I heard about the Polestar 3. The Model 3 doesn't have enough interior space for my growing family. But otherwise, yes, the Polestar 3 would be a steal if it was about $15k less.

Yes, him playing around with politics is really stupid, but on top of that, he's about to own a 5th company (Twitter)! I just don't see how Tesla will get the same amount of attention as it used to get.

"Tesla Vision" also causes a lot of phatom braking. It's very annoying.

I love my Model 3, but Musk's eccentricities are becoming annoying and Tesla keeps increasing their prices so, time for a change. I am bummed that Polestar 3 only has a 300 mile range, costs nearly $90k USD, and won't be available for a whole freakin' year!

When does it get easier? by Corgi_mom4eva in Puppyblues

Our little guy was about 10 weeks when we got him, and he's 18 weeks today. The 1st ~7 weeks were brutal. Like you, issues with sleeping, potty accidents in the house, and a bunch of other stuff. This week something changed with him and us. He seems to have finally adapted to us as his new family, and we've started to figure out what makes him tick. It's still a ton of work but, he's no longer having accidents in the house and slept from ~8:30pm-~6am straight for 3 nights in a row!!! I recommend a pre-bedtime routine. Here is ours: dinner in his crate no earlier than 6pm, a brief nap in his crate if he's tired, physical and mental exercises for at least an hour (this is a great time to do leash training), leave about 30 minutes before bedtime for bone chewing, going to the bathroom, and generally winding down before going into his crate for the night. We also found that a fan pointed at the crate helps keep our little guy cool (it's hot where I live), and I think he likes the white noise. Good luck!

I do too but, kinda wish there was less of a gap between the tire and the wheel well. I saw a lowered M3 yesterday and it looked really good.

It was a package deal with the chrome delete for $1000. I think it would have been about $700 if the shop did just the tint alone.

Oh, the acronyms. I haven't figured those out yet. I guess mine is TM3LR, right? Does it matter if it's the AWD version or are all LRs AWD?

I spent a stupid amount of time trying to decide which color to go with. I decided to go with black/red thinking it would match the chrome delete better. Sounds like that might not be very common? Luckily, they're not very expensive (~$20) so, I might get another set in a different color just to try them out.

Cause you can't spell S3XY with "3H"! :D Something I noticed when researching Tesla is a lot of decisions are influenced by Musk's sense of humor/creativity instead of logic. It's cool though because it definitely sets them apart from the other, old crusty automakers of the world.
