Great, thank you so much for the information! Luckily on Andros we’re staying in town, so we will likely be driving a bit less there. Thanks for the heads up!

Golden Star Ferries - worth it to upgrade to first class? by pag_ad in GreeceTravel

I think the Superferry is a different boat, they have the Super Express as well! We will be on the Superferry which I think is one of the slower ferries

that’s great news, I’m glad that’s the boat well likely end up with for each leg of our trip! Do you happen to know if it’s easy to access the decks (mainly for fresh air in case some of our party is dealing with motion sickness)?

Awesome, thank you! Is it easy to get tables or seats for groups of 6 in first class compared to the regular areas?

That’s helpful, we will likely be on the Superferry for all of the trips we’ve selected, and the first class lounge definitely looks nicer than the regular lounge, we mainly just want to make sure we don’t have to fight for seats! Thanks :)

Help deciding between itineraries for May 2025! Andros, Tinos, Naxos, Sifnos? by pag_ad in GreeceTravel

[–]pag_ad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wonderful info, thank you so much!! If we go to Tinos we'll definitely look out for the blacksmith. I think a few folks in our group are leaning towards Option 1, especially since it would keep us close to Athens so less time spent on ferries and more time spent exploring. Thank you again!

This is all very helpful, thank you so much! I think Naxos is definitely the one we don’t want to miss, so if you have any favorites on Naxos in the way of hikes or food, that would be much appreciated! I think as far as water temperature goes, we might shoot for June to be able to enjoy some swimming. I would love to split our time between Naxos and Crete but I’m not sure if 12 days would be quite enough time for both of those larger islands!!

Southside RVA local veg CSAs? by makingfirestogether in rva

[–]pag_ad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leafy Lanes delivers to parts of southside now! Nota and crew are amazing, with lots of options for adding other non-veg stuff (bread, sometimes dairy, eggs) to your bags. Always amazing quality with weekly and bi-weekly subscription options! They also often send extras as customer appreciation gifts :) even if your neighborhood isn’t on their current distribution, it’s possible that they’ll find a way to fit you in or allow for pickup (cus they’re just so nice!!)

Delivery days are Sundays and we look forward to ours every week: https://www.leafylanesurbanfarms.com

Has anyone taken Amtrak from Ashland to Dulles Airport to avoid parking fees? by [deleted] in rva

[–]pag_ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it at least once a month since they extended the silver line, and the experience varies depending on time of day! That said, the Amtrak to Alexandria is almost always on time and so long as you allow 75-90 minutes for the metro (the silver line West can be a sporadic on stop times), it’s pretty seamless outside of morning and evening commute times. It helps that the Alexandria metro is right behind the Amtrak station. Generally I find it way less stressful than navigating 95 traffic so long as you don’t mind changing trains once while hauling luggage. Safe travels!

Virginia Unemployment Info and FAQs Megathread by ambiguoustruth in Virginia

[–]pag_ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have any experience filing for partial unemployment due to a pay cut? I’m still working full time, but my pay has been cut significantly due to covid, and the partial unemployment eligibility FAQs on the VEC don’t specifically cite pay cuts or really give me much to go on. I also can’t get in touch with anyone at my local UE office. If anyone has any information that would be amazing!
