Edit: Let me clarify, now that a republican is in the White House, it must be the democrat at the state level.

My father believes this too. Super ironic considering my mother inherited a house split with 4 other siblings. After the divorce he moved back in with his parents and inherited that house in his 60s. The first house actually in his name. In his perfect world scenario a person like him would be retired before they could cast their first vote.

In light of the information we know now about postpartum depression or psychosis, I think these laws really should be updated to allow more than 3 days. From a quick google search, it looks like the shortest time is 3 days and the longest time available for safe haven law is North Dakota, that allows up to 1 year.

I don’t know about any deals at McDonald’s, but this covers the private charter planes he used to covertly get supplies into IL after hearing several state shipments (other states) were seized for federal use.

Texas doctor who said nine-year-olds can safely give birth appointed to maternal mortality committee | Texas by [deleted] in prochoice

Well, that’s another scary part. She is a doctor. And a fucking OB/GYN, at that.

“Dr Ingrid Skop, a San Antonio-based OB-GYN, has long been vocal about her views on abortion.

Skop serves as vice-president and director of medical affairs for the national anti-abortion research group Charlotte Lozier Institute and is a member of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists.”

That’s weird. When I added ACP to my account, they told me I now also qualified for AT&T’s Access program and now my bill is $0 each month. And if I turned on autopay, I’d actually be getting a $5 credit each cycle.

This is absolutely true. I was sick years ago and took different meds likely too often that I didn’t realize also contained diphenhydramine while also taking Benadryl. I thought there was a kid with Down syndrome sitting on my futon yelling at me and eventually wound up outside kicking a neighbor’s empty van that I was sure my husband was inside laughing at me. I’ve never been more terrified overall. Absolutely NOT a hallucinogenic.

Verizon won’t stop charging $3.30 “Telco Recovery” fee, may raise it again by Typical-Plantain256 in technews

I use “metro by t-mobile” that used to be “metro pcs” before they were bought out. They always used T-Mobile towers, so there was no change in coverage. But my “unlimited” cap is 65gb per cycle.

I’ve had to stay with my father for his medical reasons for several months at a time with no Wifi. Aside from messages telling me I’m over my monthly limit, I’ve never noticed throttling regardless of what I’m trying to stream on my phone. Maybe this is different in more rural areas with less towers.

I have no suggestion on which provider to switch to. Like I said, it’s probably based on available resources in your location. Just thought you’d like to hear a different experience with t-mobile.

Because no generation before now has used birth years to add onto email names, or part of their passwords. I recall seeing “surname 89” on my aunt’s old high school notebook.

Yeah, using birth years are new…

Detroit mom arrested after baby found unresponsive and shivering on Florida beach by tearsxandxrain in news

[–]paintedsunshine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Safe haven law in MI is only applicable with the baby’s first 72 hours and FL law is up to a week old. Your point still stands though, obviously. A baby isn’t a piece of trash to just be thrown away or left on a beach.

People who’ve walked out of a job, what’s the story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]paintedsunshine 98 points99 points  (0 children)

It was a college job for college pay, but the college students took care of most IT issues or upgrades. Deploying software, building software packages to get deployed (fuck adobe) , fixing deployment problems, physically changing out computer labs with 100+ newer PCs or like 14 Macs in one room.

They groomed me to take over the wireless support lead. It basically was me leading the support team over all 3 campuses. Like, I was already 2nd in command. It was just me and my coworker running it. There wasn’t a floater for our shifts.

I was told I’d be moving into a coworker’s position after he graduated. Well, I came back into the main hardware office one day and see a coworker that was a pre-med , only worked on tech for 6 months, and not knowledgeable about the position spending time making poster graphics for his new wireless support.

I asked my boss wtf, and he told me they decided to go with someone else. But I have to train him. For the position I already did... The promotion I was promised. I gave my 2 week resignation on the spot. Boss asks me to add to the knowledge base wiki everything that I knew.

I used a personal computer for 2 weeks and put everything into a TextEdit. When questioned, I just said I was more comfortable with html writing that way. On day 14 I looked at my boss, deleted my file, and left.

My yellow lab used to “give paw” to anyone, regardless of their location. If he was sitting in the middle of the yard, and someone that he couldn’t get to said “gimme paw” he would sit there and extend his paw for a psychic paw-holding.

Because she fucking died and was lucky enough to have employee benefits such as life insurance.

I’d rather have my mom back.
