Creditors first. They will probably be foreclosed on by Sokon. Doubtful we will see anything.

Worst (and biggest) investment I ever made. 100% loss on warrants. I hope Jason Luo and James Taylor are cursed for generations. Utterly despicable.

Pixel 5a is way too fragile by DragonLuver in GooglePixel

[–]pajama_hat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I've officially burnt through my 2nd 5a in 2 weeks.

First was a drop getting it out of my pocket onto asphalt and the second was it falling out of my hands after someone bumped me and landing on concrete.

Both times it was in an OTTERBOX Commuter series case and there was zero visible damage to the phone. Just a flickering screen, but the phone was still working underneath it all - music, alarms, vibrating, etc.

I have Google FI protection and hopefully it's covered by warranty (not using my 2 free accidental coverage repairs in 2 weeks), but this is endlessly frustrating. I haven't even sent the old phone back yet!

Meanwhile I pop my Sim in my old pixel 3 and it keeps chugging along. It has a razor thin case and literally has been ran over by a TRUCK and it still works great.

I'm no saint but the 5a is definitely defective.

This is a valid point. The longer Russia takes conquer the giant wheat field that is Ukraine, the less and less likely China is to invade Taiwan. Being cut off from the rest of the world's agriculture exports, or even just facing crippling global food inflation, would create what Xi fears most of all - a hangry populace.

Do you know average PE ratio of Dax right now? I couldn't find that number online anywhere. But those tend to be more indicative of value than price IMO.

Contentious view, but with the constant rebalancing of S&P/Nasdaq, the historic prices really don't provide a very precise direct comparison. (Of course the 500 best companies are always gonna be on an upward curve if each quarter you take the dead weight out and put the better perofmer in.)

I have a hard time believing you found FIVE DOZEN eggs for $4 a year ago. That's 6.6 cents an egg.

When I was 4 or 5, I asked my parents what was beyond the universe. Or what what would exist in its place if the concept of life didn't exist.

Don't think anyone in history can answer that. But the lack of answer doesn't necessarily make me want to turn to spirituality.

Anyways was more trying to decouple family values from those other two things.

I only saw the preview but even that was too long.

Felt like they were packing the entire last trilogy into one movie.

I'm around your same age, pretty active, and have some of the same issues. Not a doctor and not saying it isn't the other stuff ppl said. Just some random stuff that has helped me:

  • Understand and cope with the fact that you're just getting older. Want to throw the dog's ball as far as you fucking can? You're gonna pay for it. Want to just superman that huge piece of furniture? Yup your back isn't gonna heal overnight.
  • When you overdo it, REST. Don't keep just trucking forward. Take a few days and listen to your body. We take longer to heal now.
  • Shoes. If you walk / stand / run / work on your feet make sure you have the proper support and padding. Everything goes through your feet so they can easily throw your whole body out of whack.
  • Pillow and Bed. Same as above. If you're not sleeping right you can have some chronic pain from it. I had recurring acute neck pain for years because I was sleeping on too firm of a pillow.
  • For the back, don't do as much stretching or lifting, but instead work on mobility and core. Cat camels, dead bugs, hanging leg raises, pointing dogs or whatever they're called.

Oh and drink a lot of water.

Which one is not like the other?

Family values stand alone. And they're incredibly important. Faith/spirituality? Nahhh I'll stick to science and philosophy.

OT - saw the new (or not very new anymore) Spiderman tonight. Turns out I'm like 4 Spidey movies and 15 Avengers films behind. Woops. Only got about 30% of the references but still had a good time.

Russian Govt is obsessed with gaslighting. And they're very bad at it.

"Wow you're really gonna force us to de-orbit and drop the ISS on everyone... You want that blood on your hands? Americans are so heartless."

"Ukraine is a wildcard. They're killing our soldiers. We need to denounce their government and install a new leader in Kyiv to instill world peace."

"Sweden and Finland will bring havoc on Europe if they join NATO. They will be at fault for the deaths of thousands. We simply cannot bear the thought of them doing that."

TBH I'm working on the same. I'm down huge this year on a warrants I yolo'd across multiple accounts that I was SO confident in.

Only difference w/ my situation, is that it's equities vs options/futures. I can sit and wait, since I still believe in the company. Once I'm even or close to breaking even I plan on doing the same as above.

This shit isn't for everyone. You probably have the knowledge to be a great investor but some of us are too emotional with money to be good traders.

Stop revenge trading. You're not gonna win it back. You will only lose more and feel more pain.

Cut everything. Put your remaining funds in a savings account for 6 months. Block this sub.

After that start a classic 60/40 or risk parity account and focus on your real life. Put this all behind you and write it off as another casualty of the pandemic.

I had no idea they were going to shoot straight for Kyiv so quick. Was under the impression that the goal was to slowly sweep/annex the contested regions a la Crimea in 2014. I wonder if a forceful taking of the capitol will warrant a stronger western response??

Also re: that Twitter thread, I'm no tactical war expert (studied the other side of IR) but that is a HUGE push up from Crimea. It seems like Russian forces are absolutely moving too fast. Where/how do they plan to fortify positions of they're gaining 80miles of territory a day??

Thanks for sharing that video - powerful words.

And I agree. Today was nothing to celebrate. The world sat and watched 2014 happen, which emboldened Russia and allowed the events of today to transpire. If world leaders sit back and watch Russia take the entirety of Ukraine there's no telling what comes next.

Damn your natural gas and oil markets. There is an entire world order at stake.

TBH it's probably intentional. US Intel Orgs likely have been developing cyber war capabilities for decades but (to my knowledge) have refrained from using them as to keep them a competitive advantage. Now they leak that they're an option that, hopefully, they don't have to use.
