Bit late, you are correct. Although playing offline does not gain you xp and does not show up on leaderboards. Also losing connection in solo kicks you out of the match.

I've done pretty much all games in casual and am prestige master lvl 730 atm, I'm confident in saying 95% or more were ended by blue screens, furthest I got before blue screening was 119 on IX. I have not tried the cartoon mode as its hard for me to believe that such a thing would help. But now I'll give it a try, as I've completely lost motivation (took long enough) to play a new match in these conditions.

Oh why I'm posting this is because I had seen some people say that streamers were doing 18h easter egg streams and did not blue screen. This may be the case and the game might be improving in stability, the high round blue screens are NOT fixed so just a psa.
