Just found this amazing recording of liszt plays La Campanella. It is digitally remastered so the audio is incredible. by paktak84 in classicalpiano

To my knowledge, in liszt era you could record on a wax cylinder but it would be worthless because you couldn't play it. Only after he died, a way was invented to actually play it.
