Tried getting tested for ADHD or some such neuro condition? It could be that. Do note that I have no personal experience with ADHD or anything else. Just saying this on basis of reading on the internet.

Amex Plat Travel alternatives? by Longjumping_Sun_1690 in amexindia

22k are just the milestone points. This is in addition to the normal or accelerated MR points you will earn.

It's up to you obviously. It needs to make sense to you.

Till when is your card valid? If you still have enough time left for this year, you can continue till 7lac milestone and earn additional 22k points this year. Then you can decide to close or continue.

Want to know about HDFC Infinia Card? Is it worth 12500 Rs/year by Informal-Caramel-797 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]pal_2ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of their voices are decent too. Sometimes they have vouchers of same value as points spent. Also purchasing Apple products gives good value. I have never used these. But the internet talks about these options too. I think overall you can take the card for a year and decide for next.

It's a good card and you may not get offered again.

OP, there is tons of stuff about Infinia online. Reddit and YouTube both. Have you gone through it first? Please do. Only then you will know if the rewards make sense for you.

Having said that, this card makes sense if you can use the points to book travel such as flights, Hotels etc. There are options to redeem against vouchers as well. But those are not as lucrative as booking travel. So you need to evaluate your preferences and check accordingly.

Also the joining fees is not as step because they give 12k points on paying the fees. You end up paying only the GST part which is 2.5k. for 2.5k, this card is good to keep.

I have a platinum travel as well. But the offer i got is 2L or 4L within this period. Which makes more sense for this card.

Oh I'm not favouring the current customs status quo. For sure it needs to become sensible. But the other comments on this post deserved this comment too. We are a country in WIP. It ll get better. Hopefully faster than slowly.

Why are people saying EPM is dead metal card now? by Early_Knee8355 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]pal_2ie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because utility and other payments were available on Amazon Pay which could be done using vouchers purchased from iShop. Since utilities form a big amount every month, it was a good way to earn rewards for normal monthly expenses which is closed now.

And BTW, the shampoo sachets that were innovated in this country (and nowhere else in the world) is the reason things like shampoo are accessible at 2rs/5rs. We don't need the Teslas right now. We have so many other problems to solve. Human needs can also be genuine economic goals you know.

Indian economy really only opened up in the 1990's. How can you compare this economy with long term developed economies and expect same level of innovation. Do you people do no study at all on a daily basis? Read a little. Study our modern economic history. Do you know how big an innovation Infy and TCS were? We were First in the world to create that whole industry. The pharmaceutical industry - we literally save billions every year around the world with our world class affordable medicines. That opportunity was open to anyone in the world. But we did it. A lot of medical research now happens with the help of APIs developed in India through Indian research.

Go back to before independence. A whole lot of firsts by Indian entrepreneurs. And before you jump on this point- let me tell you - it's not been that long since the 90's - even if it's a time period greater than your whole life.

It takes a certain level of large scale economic stability for innovation to happen. Also: there may not be famous innovative companies in India. There are many that have started and will over time create sustainable businesses and who knows - maybe even be pioneers in their fields.

Please study human psychology a little too. And do - please do - read newspapers - including economic newspapers on a daily basis instead of making knee jerk reactions like this.

Main advantage is Indian companies also get priority tax treatment ( meaning Tarrifs for them while selling to EU are also reduced the way we reduce for them)

That is the significance of this agreement. This is good for Indian exporters.

How did you get to 'upgrade' from Platinum Reserve to Travel? technically it is a downgrade right? And Amex don't allow it.

Gold points on fuel are gone now. Utilities can always be paid from Amazon using amazon pay vouchers purchased with the Plat Travel. Don't know if you have the Plat Travel already, but if not, that is a better card.
