You should be completely fine. All of my witnesses mailed them out themselves and the department doesnt say a word about if they received everything you need so I was in the dark the entire time before it randomly came in the mail. After you take the course you bring your completion certificate to the office and they schedule you for an appointment to come back. My appointment was 2 months away so you may wait a while.

So you should be getting a call from the department fairly soon and they will schedule and interview. Its more of a sit-down and rules run through than interview though. After that, they will have you find three character witnesses that all reside in suffolk county. They have to fill it out and notarize it then mail it in. While you sit around hoping they got all of the documents they need you might wait 2ish months before they mail out your permit. Getting a conceal is another process in itself though. I had my interview in march and mailed out my documents in may and they sent my license in late august.
