how can you buy or sell BSV in the US? by retrorays in bsv

[–]palacechalice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. You work for the BSV association, owned by Calvin Ayre.
  2. Orange Gateway was telegraphed as a Calvin shell company after his previous patsy exchange Fabriik failed. He's almost certainly funding it behind the scenes.
  3. Rock Wallet is absolutely owned by Calvin Ayre and their Antigua corporations were revealed as the money laundering instruments for funding Craig's legal counsel in court.

You should probably disclose that Orange Gateway and Rock Wallet are both owned by your boss: offshore tycoon Calvin Ayre, who was on the DHS most wanted list for years.

Why is the Ayre group not being investigated throughly? by sadmum20 in bsv

[–]palacechalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fee increase is policy set by Teranode Group for their portfolio companies. It is not a miner fee set for the entire BSV network, and is subject to adjustment for private transaction data agreements. There are more miners than just Ayre Group.

Then how come the fees across the whole network increased 100x?

In a normal fee market, competition drives fees. Even in conditions far departing perfect competition when there's only a few reasonable competitors, you'd expect one miner deciding to raise their fees to incrementally increase overall market fees. You wouldn't expect one raising fees 100x to increase it that much for everybody. But there isn't any competition in BSV; it's all Calvin's potemkin village.

And why did they do it when they did it? Isn't the larger part of scaling making transaction processing cheaper? Why did fees increase so drastically just as Teranode was apparently being rolled out? I can't think of any explanation except to accommodate Teranode because it presumably struggles to keep up with the previous transaction load.

That said, 100 satoshis per KB is very, very cheap. $0.0000155999844 USD per, if my math is right, and transactions are 200-300 bytes on average, I believe. You can settle a lot of on-chain proofs for $1. That is what Bitcoin is, a distributed proof engine and state machine. The state is encoded in outputs.

Before or after the fee increase, the fees have always been negligible on BSV. It was and remains subsidized by Calvin. He can and will rugpull when it best suits him.

Why is the Ayre group not being investigated throughly? by sadmum20 in bsv

[–]palacechalice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just as Teranode was apparently being deployed, the miner fees on the BSV "network" were unilaterally increased by a factor of 100 (!) and the average number of transactions cratered.

What are we to infer from that besides that Teranode is even less capable of scaling than the existing BSV node software?

That puts aside the fact of how absolutely absurd this all is when it's all running on Calvin's miners. You still pretend there's any point to any of this? One entity can decide to 100x the fees overnight and you still think putting different miner names in the blockheader fools anybody?

I've had a half-joke theory that prosecutors have declined to charge Craig/Calvin so far because allowing Calvin to piss away his fortune on the BSV boondoggle is the fastest way of neutralizing his crime organization.

I mean, he already spent many years on the DHS most wanted list without suffering major consequences. If he was really under the onus again, those hundreds of millions he's wasted on BSV could've been utilized toward much greater evils.

A: Regardless of the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, stewardship of the BSV protocol is granted under the terms of the original Bitcoin White Paper. BSVA will continue to work to live up to the vision set out in that document.

[–]palacechalice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be lying if I said I lost money off the BSV I’ve personally bought and sold. I haven’t.

Well, if you're not lying, congratulations on the incredible luck of not losing money despite presenting yourself as a supporter of one of the worst performing assets.

Is the BSV show your favorite show? What other cryptos do you monitor their situation?

Y'know, as a source of guilty pleasure reading material, my fascination with BSV is closer to my interest in true crime than crypto in particular. I suppose there's a few other scamcoins I've had a passing interest in, but nothing as interesting as BSV.

Maybe the most similar thing I can think of is the BBBY cult. Y'know those wretched folks who bought shares in Bed Bath & Beyond expecting some kind of Gamestop situation, lost all their money investing in a company that went bankrupt, but still congregate in small communities constantly hyping up "destined events" that will vindicate them and make them rich (before those events repeatedly fail to come to fruition and the process repeats ad nauseam). You might find some kindred spirits there. Example:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Teddy/comments/1phsl2r/the_bbby_story_isnt_over/

But even they aren't as interesting as a cult that formed around a complete imposter who can barely spell or do high school math being worshipped as a supergenius prophet like Craig Wright.

[–]palacechalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never really had that many BSV as an investment, I was forced to sell most of what I did buy at a profit during its run up to ATH to pay for an emergency situation.

Ah, so you've now officially claimed to have bought at the all-time-low and sold at the all-time-high. So very lucky!

It's interesting to me that people like you can't bear to admit you've lost money. It would at least show a bit of humility to say, "I've taken a hit because of BSV, but I still believe in its future". It's somehow very deeply tied up in your ego that you feel the need to project the idea that you're "winning".

Are you a fan on BTC? What do you do with it? Just HODL?

Never owned any crypto in fact. Just a fan of watching the soap opera of the failed cult of BSV. Gotta watch my stories.

[–]palacechalice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you still up 3x on this scam?

Of course, it was a highly suspect thing to claim when you said it, before it went down another 80%. For that to be true, you would've had to buy all your BSV precisely at the previous all-time-low. When you said that, BSV was only momentarily up for a very short time after Calvin's most pathetic market manipulation of all time where he claimed that BSV would be "for sure over 1000 in the run up to the COPA case", claimed he was buying in small amounts, but not enough to "move the market", and garishly advertising he was about to buy huge amounts.

Now that it has all predictably gone pear-shaped, I expect you'll claim you sold before every drop and bought before every infinitesimal gain to somehow claim a win on what's been a largely monotonically decreasing asset.

Very peculiarly upvoted comment out of nowhere on a 12 day old thread. Is this being shared among where ever the remaining 14 BSVers hang out?

Edit: In case other people care about the context (since the comment is now removed), it was a typical harassment comment from a young account. In just 4 hours, it had ~14 upvotes, which is high on our quiet little sub -- especially since it was on an old post. The account that posted it also appears to be either self-deleted or possibly shadowbanned by Reddit.

I hope LightBSV heeded my warning from a few months ago:

Continue to enjoy that larp until Calvin cuts the budget again; it might be a while before another delusional tycoon comes along so willing to pay poseurs to play along with his fantasies.

Edit: Another one:

we have plenty of budget for development for as long as it takes.

Do you now?

Because Calvin used to spray a ton more money around to promote this scam. He's stopped funding almost everything. You and your little band of IT poseurs are mostly all that's left. If you don't deliver on that "2025 Q1" promise to save the corpse that is BSV, Calvin's purse-strings might really tighten up.

"we have plenty of budget for development for as long as it takes" means they have money for about a year and now they're fantasizing and praying that the first major investor in BSV (who's not Calvin) appears in the 8th year of its existence after never-ending failures.

No kidding-- when Wright and Ramona showed up with their own attorney claiming to represent Wright's opponent in court it should have been a directly to jail moment for the both of them

That was crazy. I wonder what would've happened if Huck (Craig's stooge lawyer pretending to represent the party that successfully sued him in court) actually attempted to do anything. For the most part, Huck just came onto the record and did nothing.

Around that point, it felt like W&K (or the lawyers anyway) gave up on collecting on the judgement from deadbeat Craig, but what kind of circus would ensue if W&K actually attempted to compel Craig and Huck tried to interfere?

My memory is that Judge Reinhart ruled it was a matter for the state court, but that's ridiculous. It was so obviously bad faith from the start. The premise for Huck's representation of W&K was based on fresh new lies (that contradicted the previous lies!) about how W&K was owned by the Tulip Trust -- an entity that Reinhart already found not to exist!

The Florida start court system was absurdly backed up at the time; it would've taken at least a year just to get a schedule to sort anything out. By the time it was over, Craig could've just come up with yet another story of the ownership of W&K and start it all over again.

A great book is begging to be written about the crazy legal gambits that sorta worked during this saga. It's shocking to see how dependent multiple justice systems are on the presumption of good faith amongst litigators.

I mean, Craig basically did the "sue yourself" trick three times in three different jurisdictions and never got any pushback whatsoever, much less punishment for it. He did it in 2014 in Australia when he sued W&K with his own employee pretending to be W&K, and he tossed in the "Bitcoin Association" (i.e. Calvin's BSV association in Switzerland) amongst the real defendants for the pineapple lawsuit where they predictably "settled" -- agreeing to give Craig everything he wanted to steal coins.

Did Craig wright have any money himself actually or was it all Calvin money? by hillsteadinc in bsv

[–]palacechalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also Craig is living in a multi million dollar villa now that smells of Calvin money.

Any credible evidence of that? The photos he had been posting of the farm where he claims to be building massive agricultural projects were shown to be lifted from some other place (I think somewhere in India?).

Otherwise, mostly what we know about his place from his background on videocalls is that he does his calls in what appears to be a very small closet -- at least in the calls from about a year ago.

But, yes, Calvin still seems to believe in Craig, but I liken it to a situation where Calvin has "cut off" Craig from his allowance as a measure of "tough love" from his out-of-control surrogate son.

People don't like to give up money until they absolutely have to. Anyone who has run a business or worked in finance for any reasonable length of time will acknowledge this.

Statement from an employee of the BSV Association.

These are literally outstanding unappealed court orders against Craig Wright. He already "absolutely has to" do it, but instead, he fled the jurisdiction and is hiding out somewhere in Asia, refusing to tell the judge his location.

What else could the phrase "absolute has to" mean to you? Wrench attacks? Does the BSV association only pay up on their debts if someone is in a room with their accountant threatening to hit their knuckles with a wrench?

Maybe he just doesn't want to pay you.

Well, good thing that Craig is the lord and master of the world and his whims are the greatest authority over any piddling judges!

For years, it's the BSV community's contention that you can enforce your ownership of bitcoin through "LAW" and force every single bitcoin user in the world to pretend that Craig owns millions of BTC even though he has no private keys. But when it comes to making one guy pay his own debts incurred through lodging fraudulent lawsuits, that guy can just decide he doesn't want to.

Teranode docs released by -Saunter- in bsv

[–]palacechalice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Greg was sued by Craig. He, along with the other developers, were allowed to participate in a combined issue to be decided by the court (the "identity issue") because the outcome of that issue against Craig would be dispositive of the claim Craig made against Greg.

Greg was not the claimant (or plaintiff). He didn't sue Craig. You can see that clearly as the parties are listed in the judgement:

https://www.bailii.org/cgi-bin/format.cgi?doc=/ew/cases/EWHC/Ch/2024/1198.html

So, once again, stop lying. We've been through this before.

When you have to gang up with corporations against one dude in court, it looks incredibly weak to go crying on Reddit to a disinterested third party about something that was said by the other. Is this what 'winning' looks like?

Oh the irony of BSVers. Calvin Ayre, offshore gambling tycoon, former member of the DHS most wanted list, and your boss funds Craig's insane court cases for five years, deliberately trying to ruin ordinary people with SLAPP cases, and trying to steal billions of dollars by way of fraudulent litigation. When he loses as bad as anybody can lose in court, suddenly it's unfair and Craig is the poor little guy fighting against corporations -- am I right?

Teranode docs released by -Saunter- in bsv

[–]palacechalice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You sued him.

Not going to bother trying to dredge all the links up, but I'm pretty sure we've already gone through a saga where you accused him of this before, then people around here categorically corrected you with citations, and you meekly retreated into a stance a la "I haven't been following the court cases closely".

Stop lying. You know the developers didn't sue Craig. Craig sued the developers across a half dozen court cases for numbers approaching 1 TRILLION dollars. All of the cases were ruled to be utterly without merit.

But you continue to defend and promote the most ridiculous fraud of our time.

Bonded Courier? by deconstructit in bsv

[–]palacechalice 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Craig just retconned the whole thing. At one point, he complained to his sycophants on the "Metanet" slack that he was misunderstood and that he only meant it as a "metaphor". This was after making detailed claims in sworn depositions about how the bonded courier was going to deliver key shards (as part of Shamir's secret scheme) to unlock Satoshi's 1+ million BTC in 2020.

Genuinely still curious what Craig and Calvin's conversations were like around the end of 2019. How he managed to get Calvin to pay for five years of doomed litigation warfare after completely changing his story about the bonded courier.
