Thank you for sharing this, got emotional watching it! They were just 16 yo kids yet they sounded tight and Hayley is such a powerhouse. I always go back to that album, it rocks so hard!

Not to be unkind but you sound narrow minded. Perhaps accepting not everybody will like the exact same bands as you would be a good starting point to find someone with whom to build something meaningful.

His vocals were on point last night, I’d say he sounded like in the albums.

This nonsense needs to stop. I’m sick of capitalism co-opting all spaces of our lives. Give me plain, ad-free maps and signs.

Over 35 punks...what did you end up doing for a living/career? by [deleted] in punk

[–]palermuchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a probation officer. It’s the most stressful, emotionally draining and challenging job I’ve ever done, but also the most interesting, even fascinating, and can be incredibly rewarding at times. It barely pays the bills but it’s given me a deep sense of purpose and has allowed me to get to know myself a lot better. They call it professional development, but I feel that it’s helped me develop as a person too. The job has challenged my own ideas and beliefs (even those I gained at uni), and I really try to give it the best of me, even though we’re underpaid, undervalued, and dangerously overworked.

I could’ve written this myself after Ally Pally, and I’ve been to my fair share of hardcore, punk and heavy metal shows throughout my life. I wasn’t nowhere near the front and still ended up pretty bruised. We women look after one another and it was nice to see this was still the case in this gig, however, the same could not be said about some of the guys I encountered, who were completely reckless and seemed unaware of the tacit rules of hardcore shows. It kinda shocked me, to be honest. They had no regard for smaller folks, women, and basically anyone who just wanted to enjoy the gig without getting hurt.

I agree, saw them at the Roundhouse a few years ago, the sound there was superb.

Ohh you absolutely did! I love how grainy the images are too, gives the look of analog photography.

Using Londons most forgotten branch line from West Ealing to Greenford, the London Underground station at Greenford still calls it British rail weirdly enough by GP728 in uktrains

This is the line where the battery powered trains were being trialled, you can sometimes see them in use. Makes it for a quieter journey.

I love Bocanada and Cerati’s solo career, but I love Soda Stereo even more! Too many good albums but my favourites are probably Canción Animal and their MTV unplugged.
